Because she would claim exactly the same thing that there was absolutely no sign of having taken anything and nobody would ever know, even though, as you said, she was an addict.

It's just a visible effect of the drugs working, whether you take one dose of the 8/500s, a prescribed maximum dose of 2 x 30/500s over an extended period, opiates of other kinds or whether you're taking an absolute fuckton. In itself, there's no value attached it it because it's a normal physiological response to the active ingredients. But it's still visible, whatever the context.

it absolutely has zero visible effect on my eyes so…

Same!

I've spent some time this evening comparing photos if me on co-codamol and not. Eyes are the same.

Nope rules are rules, have to have a 0 tolerance policy on this, as it's asking for trouble. If she sought a line mangers advise and explained and it was above board or transparent it's different. A colleague would have had some paracetamol to borrow. Also you don't take co - codamol for a headache!

Just to add how do we know by her stealing some meds she is then not denying others some pain relief to offset the discrepancy!!!

if it was anything controlled which is kept in small quantities i.e. alfentanyl I’d get this argument but fortunately every ward I’ve ever been on has boxes of paracetamol in stock. My ward in particular has a hilarious amount stocked which we always try and send back so this comment made me chuckle 😁.

Ignore my last comment I misread!! Paracetomal and small amounts of cocodamol wouldn’t be controlled so fortunately I hope this never happened.
