The one thing at Christmas that you really look forward to eating?

Mine is a plate of mixed cheese, biscuits/crackers and pickled onions on Christmas Day night…it’s the best!

If we’ve had beef or good ham at some point, love it on Warburtons white bread

All the cheese.
Leftovers in a sandwich.

Dontsayyouloveme · 18/12/2022 21:46

Pate and runny, stinky Brie! Only eat them at Xmas and I cannot bloody wait!

ZIEVAR · 18/12/2022 21:47

Me too. Love it.

Diedre44 · 18/12/2022 21:51

I'm really excited to sit down on Christmas night with a slice of my very first home made Christmas cake. I've been lovingly soaking it in vanilla spiced rum for the last 4 weeks and sneaking a slither each week it's bloody lovely. I'm icing it tomorrow 😁 apricot jam, marzipan, fondant icing, cute Xmas tree decorations and ribbon. Silly but super excited.

The leftover turkey and ham made into sandwiches on white bread with real butter.

This with a generous sprinkle of salt. Cannot wait!

Benjispruce4 · 18/12/2022 21:52

Hot turkey with a bread sauce and cranberry.

PeachyMama · 18/12/2022 21:53

Toast, pate and caramelised onion chutney. I think it's because I only eat it at Christmas so look forward to it all year 😋

BCBird · 18/12/2022 21:54

Mince pies.

CactusPricks · 18/12/2022 21:55

The pigs in blankets 🤤

Passmethecrisps · 18/12/2022 21:59

We have a roast lunch most Sundays and frequently have cheese and bits and pieces in the evening. But for me it’s the combination of it all - the acceptance that it’s entirely fine to have it all on a plate and then all on a sandwich later on.

i do have a soft spot for bread sauce but I wouldn’t have that any other time.

The pigs in blankets 🤤

I'm making (almost) foot long pigs in blankets. Butchers hook Cumberland sausages from Costco my fave. Nom, nom, nom.

Mapletreelane · 18/12/2022 22:01

Cheese - in particular Colston Bassett Stilton, Brie, Cambazola and Wensleydale with cranberry. Washed down with a large glass (or three) of port.

Mince pies!
roasted parsnips
trifle
christmas cake
posh chocs
stuffing
turkey and cranberry sauce

basically all of it 😂

You don't like much do you ! LOL😆

Crikeyalmighty · 18/12/2022 22:08

A chicken , stuffing and bread sauce sandwich!

Cookerhood · 18/12/2022 22:10

Actually, I forgot. Bubble & squeak on boxing day.

Vanillalime · 18/12/2022 22:14

Sometimes for dinner I will have toast with pate topped with caramelised onion. Delish!!!

I could probably eat this at any time of the year but it’s a Christmas treat for me 😇

SocksAndTheCity · 18/12/2022 22:15

Another vote for leftovers sandwiches; turkey with stuffing, bread sauce, cranberry sauce and gravy or ham with piccalilli.

Ham with bubble and squeak from the leftover veg and a fried egg.

Also leftover Christmas pudding fried in butter 😍

bloodyplanes · 18/12/2022 22:20

Boxing Day bubble and squeak with baked beans and a fried egg 🥹🫶🏼

Charlieandlola · 18/12/2022 22:28

Cold Turkey , stuffing , pigs in blankets with hot chips and bread sauce on Boxing Day

bizzywiththefizzy · 18/12/2022 22:28

Dates ! no one has said Dates . I bloody love them . I've only had them at Christmas .

perenniallymessy · 18/12/2022 22:28

Boxing Day pie is better than Christmas dinner I think! Turkey, ham, stuffing, pigs in blankets, leftover veg, a white sauce with some white wine and a pastry top. Utter heaven.

I'm all about the side dishes at Christmas, it's not Christmas dinner without about five veg dishes- swede, roast carrots and parsnips, sprouts with bacon, cauliflower cheese and braised red cabbage.
