Our toilet is blocked so I went to buy a plunger after the school pick up from Screwfix. DD and DS (9 and 6 respectively) spent the whole car journey trying to grab it off each other and arguing over who deserves to play with it more.

I then got home and used the plunger in a toilet full of shit and have stuck it in a bucket full of bleach after I used it. They are asking every 2 minutes when the plunger will be ready to play with. I said it’s a tool I’ve used to unclog actual poo, go and play with your rooms full of proper toys!!

Disclaimer: this is a lighthearted thread. Please do not scrutinise my plunger use, parenting or try to diagnose my children with anything, thank you kindly Grin

This morning, DD was annoyed I'd sat in the car for 10 minutes instead of helping her pack her bag ... except I hadn't been in the car. I'd been upstairs and I'd spoken to her as we passed on the stairs.

Mine had a violent argument in the car Tuesday over if the word comparison was correct when describing the meaning of a metaphor. 10 & 13. Will find the most ridiculous nonsense to argue about.

My 18 year old taking a massivs poo the second I finished cleaning the bathroom, hadn't even got to put the cleaning stuff away 🙄 told him if he ever did it again I would move him out. I was joking, I think, I just wanted to look and smell decent for more than 30secs normally wouldn't bother me but I'm feeling irrational today

DD (11) and DS (15) just had an argument over a TikTok video ffs.

DS must have seen a video over DD's shoulder on TikTok and REALLY REALLY REALLY needed to watch this purile shit apparently. DD made a point of not letting. Even went as far as saying I will never tell you the TikTokker. WW3 erupted. Ridiculous.

😂

"I will stop the car. You just need to not faff."
"But I always faff, I don't know how not to faff!"

😅

Ours once argued from Inverness to Carlisle about whether broccoli is meat.

My 1 year old started shouting ‘want to party’ at bedtime

shouldbesleepingnotscrolling · 19/12/2022 20:03

My two had an actual angry tug of war fight over one piece of tinsel, it broke obv 🙄 followed by tears and ‘muuuumm she stared it’.

Child A buys a present for Child B's birthday. Chooses something really lovely that Child B will appreciate. Then has a couple of tantrums about giving it to Child B because they really want it too.

At school pick-up, grudgingly gives it to Child B and to be fair, Child B is thrilled then rather uncharacteristically recognises that Child A is upset and lets Child B hug it.

We are within a week of Christmas. Child B will be taken shopping to buy a present for Child A anyway. There is a lot of opportunity for Child A to have the same toy within a week 🤦‍♀️

They are 9 & 12. They understand the concept of a week!

PolkaDotMankini · 22/12/2022 07:48

This week we've had tears because 1) DD's present isn't the biggest under the tree, 2) She put her brothers' presents from her under the tree, then counted how many he had and it was more than her Hmm and 3) DS started a pillow fight, but only he had a pillow.

Christmas can't come fast enough!
