To say this was an unsatisfactory meet Santa gift?

Curious to hear other people's opinions.

The experience cost £87.63 for one child and one accompanying adult.

Can't fault the Santa experience and the stately home walk round I was more than happy with that but I don't think the gift was commensurate with the cost and calibre of the outing.

I have emailed the company as I honestly think it's just a peg doll and a box of grass moss but interested to hear if others would agree with me.

Apologies, photo would help

You paid £88????!!!!!!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 12/12/2022 19:27

The photo hasn't shown on the stupid app. But almost 90 quid is ridiculous for 1 child regardless!

PuttingDownRoots · 12/12/2022 19:27

What is the normal price for entry? And were there other activities?

Ylvamoon · 12/12/2022 19:29

Can't see the picture... but that's way to much money for a Santa visit.

Rumplestrumpet · 12/12/2022 19:30

I'm trying to imagine what the gift could possibly be....

How much is the entrance to the stately home usually? And what extra did you get for the Christmas event?

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 12/12/2022 19:30

Where the heck was it? DD has been to 2 Santa experiences, both were free and she got an age appropriate book at each which she was happy with.

TellerTuesday · 12/12/2022 19:32

Sorry, few issues there with the photo adding....

I wouldn’t have paid so much to see Santa, ever and it’s insane that you did!

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 12/12/2022 19:34

Yea that’s bad! We pay similar and get a decent-ish toy that they choose.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 12/12/2022 19:34

See it now. Jesus no! That is ridiculous for the price you paid!!

Nevermind31 · 12/12/2022 19:36

I wouldn’t have paid that much to see Santa, but I would definitely expect more than that…

Stressedmum2017 · 12/12/2022 19:37

I mean I can't believe you paid that all but that gift is ridiculous. What child would actually like that?

Stompythedinosaur · 12/12/2022 19:38

That is ridiculous!

JockTamsonsBairns · 12/12/2022 19:38

Who the hell would fork out £88 for a visit to Santa??

Stompythedinosaur · 12/12/2022 19:39

The gift, I mean! Not you, op.

upfucked · 12/12/2022 19:40

What else did the visit include? Just santa or other activities?

Dixiechickonhols · 12/12/2022 19:42

What else was included? You mention stately home entry & tour. Can you see difference in price of what you paid v normal entry costs. Did it include food?

ReeseWitherfork · 12/12/2022 19:42

What is the gift actually supposed to be? I’m assuming it’s eco friendly…

I’m not sure what gift I’d expect for £88. Probably more about the experience. I’d expect some sort of beautiful route to his grotto lined with pretty things…

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/12/2022 19:42

That’s a particularly crap peg doll too.

What else was included in the experience?

mondler · 12/12/2022 19:42

Yeh for that amount I would expect a better gift. Our local santa is £5 with a simple set up and a book at the end. Our expensive one is £20 but its a posh set up and has a winter wonderland thing included. There you get a lot better gift and the child gets to chose what they want from the toy shop. I would def question it.

Florin · 12/12/2022 19:42

That is a proper crap gift that I can’t imagine any child would want.

TellerTuesday · 12/12/2022 19:42

Ok so this was Castle Howard in North Yorkshire. We have done the Christmas event there previously and like I say I am actually happy with that, obviously it's at the more expensive end of Christmas events but the House is decorated beautifully and the Santa part is really good, it's more of a show split over 3 rooms which lasts and hour and ends with each child meeting Santa and getting their present but I do honestly think the gift is absolutely garbage.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/12/2022 19:42

That's a GREAT price for such an amazing experience

IF it included Steve Carrell dressed as Santa while shagging you in the stately home on the bed Churchill was born in

Soubriquet · 12/12/2022 19:43

What the hell?

Surely it wasn’t just walk in the grotto, see Santa and get that rubbish present for £90?

There must have been more.

Our local Santa is £15 per child and £3 per adult but that’s because you walk through a winter wonderland, take a ride on a sleigh (basically a train in a circle) and then see Santa. The present is rubbish but it’s worth it all the same.
