AIBU to expect M&S 12 days of treats not to be this?

So I've been unlocking the M&S 12 Days of Sparks and after getting a bottle of bucks fizz on day 1 - pretty good compared to some others on another thread - I've had nothing but rubbish since. However today being the last day I hoped for something decent and instead got 20% of nightwear - which is a standard offer already available in store and online. Am I being unreasonable to think the offers through the 12 days of sparks should be something different to things available to everyone else already?

YANBU. All of mine are rubbish. I didn’t even get the Buck’s Fizz

CharityShopChic · 12/12/2022 10:54

Tomorrow is the last day. Golden reward if you have opened all 12 doors.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 12/12/2022 10:55

YANBU. All of mine (except for a free pack of gold coins on day 1) have been 15% off various items, which are standard offers in store and online 🤷🏻‍♀️

SnowfallSnowball · 12/12/2022 10:56

I agree, the first one was a freebie but all rubbish since then, although I was hoping for 20% off underwear! :)

RunPmt · 12/12/2022 10:57

I got 20% off vests and camisoles today. Big whoop 🙄

SeenAndNot · 12/12/2022 10:57

This is a free app on a free rewards card right? YABU. They can’t give out amazing gifts to everyone who has the card. It’s a free tombola.

LivingOnAPrayerYes · 12/12/2022 11:00

Ffs, I said this on the other thread (no idea why a new one is needed because what you're saying is exactly the same as in there).

This is a company that gave you a free bottle of bucks fizz and you're slagging them off because that's not enough.

I have absolutely no idea why all of these m&s shoppers seem to think they are entitled to ALL be given free bucks fizz, free gin and MORE just because you shop there and they should be eternally grateful for your custom that they give EVERYONE with a sparks card expensive free gifts

I think there might be a few threads - the one I saw did not mention this but just rubbish things they had received. I'm not looking for amazing offers but just wondering what's the point in the 12 days of Sparks if it doesn't matter whether you have a Sparks card or app in the first place. Surely a discount of something which isn't standard for everyone isn't being unreasonable?

I agree - the offers last year I am sure we’re mostly on Xmas type products. I’d be delighted with 15% off a panettone or something but not <checks app> pants, tights and socks.

Sartre · 12/12/2022 12:10

YANBU, mine were rubbish too. I got a free bag of percy pigs on day 1 and ever since it’s been 15-20% off crap I’d never buy. I wanted free gin 🥲.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 12/12/2022 12:16

Mine has been utter shite throughout. Not a single thing actually free, just small amounts of money off

TrixJax · 12/12/2022 12:30

I didn't get any freebies! Mine well all 20% or 30% off various items🤷🏼‍♀️

Kylerd · 12/12/2022 12:34

I understand that you expect something different to what is already available to everyone else... but the level of entitlement in this thread is ridiculous. Do you not think that businesses might be struggling at the moment? Not saying that's the case with M&S. But people are so grabby it's unreal, it's all 'I want this' or 'I expected this' 🙄

The point is, why run a Sparks Reward scheme if you don’t need a sparks card to access the rewards?

barneshome · 12/12/2022 12:43

A free bottle of fizz is not good enough
FGS how entitled
" I want - I want - I want"

Luellie · 12/12/2022 12:45

I'm just jealous of anyone who got a freebie at all, all I got was offers!

Iluvchristmasbargains · 12/12/2022 12:47

So I got 15% off dressing gowns in my 12 days and was a bit miffed to go in store and see 20% off all nightwear. That’s until I got to the till and found both discounts were taken off. Then I was pretty chuffed. So it looked like what was freely available was better, but then the 12 days was applied on top, giving me an advantage.

RampantIvy · 12/12/2022 12:47

I forgot to open the first one so didn't get a freebie. All the others have been discount off stuff I don't want or need. It was a waste of time IMO.

lovemelongtime · 12/12/2022 12:49

I jsut scanned the QR code thingy on their website but then it asked me for credit card - now worried that was a scam !! bizarre. (I didnt enter my card details but did use my password.

Whynobreadpudding · 12/12/2022 12:51

They could have given a free packet of biscuits/crisps ext, just to get shoppers into their stores. I did get some free items a few weeks ago, and then spent more buying other things. I think they missed a trick here.

travelhelp · 12/12/2022 12:53

I haven't used/heard of this but opened the thread out of interest, and I think it's a bit silly to say "think of the poor company".

It's not unreasonable for people to expect extra freebies and discounts from something that sounds like it was designed to make you think there would be extra freebies and discounts.

And from a pp comment, it also sounds like they haven't designed it well enough to explain that "these are discounts on top of existing ones".

Handsnotwands · 12/12/2022 12:55

I got an offer to join a club you have to pay £10 a month to be in. Errrr thanks

mogtheexcellent · 12/12/2022 12:56

I got free florentines. They were yummy. The rest i havent used.

Still was better than nothing at all!

Gustavo1 · 12/12/2022 12:56

I was thrilled with my 20% off kids underwear this morning. Went straight in and ordered three packs of pants.
To be fair to M&S my offers have been pretty good and, I suspect, based on what I buy. I got money off decorations and Christmas food/drinks as well as a free gin to start off with. I’ve been pleased overall, something for nothing and all that.
