To leave sleeping child in locked car?

Went to supermarket to get prescription for DD(2) and she fell asleep on the way. Would you lock the car and leave her sleeping while you run in? Or not?

Surprised this is still going on.

Interesting that none of you who care so much for children’s safety have asked how my child is.

All the better for not being left alone I should imagine.

Absolutely

It’s horrid dragging sick kids around but you just have to. I had the same scenario a month ago where we’d been to the out of hours then had to get antibiotics. It feels a bit cruel to wake them but you just have to bundle into a buggy even if they’re grumpy about it.

What on earth happened whereby both the robber and the girl were injured? Was a third party involved?

He took the car for a joy ride and crashed it unfortunately, sorry my op didn't make that clear

Oh please, please, please read my posts. I’m not the OP obviously but I’ve been tagged back in by a few posters. I was fairly busy on the thread yesterday. The lovely woman at the pharmacy collects scripts from everyone in the queue in one go to take to the pharmacists. At that point we’re advised to go and do some shopping and come back in ten or so. I go back to the car at that point. Then I just co and collect the bag once the allotted time has past. The pharmacy is by the door and it stops queues building up.

And in the time it takes to walk from your car hand over script and return to car your child has time to inhale vomit or have her airways occluded because of the position of the seat. But if it's easier for you to take the risk......

To be fair it can take longer than that for your to realise your child has inhaled vomit or to find somewhere to stop if you're driving

Health isn't the same as safety. If she'd had a catastrophic medical emergency I doubt you'd have come back to answer questions anyway.

I waited half an hour in my local pharmacy today

Daisybuttercup12345 · 05/12/2022 16:11

My Dad left his car for a few minutes once and it caught fire. Hope your child is better soon.

SunnyK43 · 05/12/2022 16:27

I cannot believe this is an actual question an actual mum is asking. "Do I do the responsible thing and take my child with me or do I act like a complete knob and endanger my child?" Don't ever, EVER leave a child alone in a car, full stop. That's just asking for trouble to come say hi.

This is such a strange comment OP.

People were, as toy say, concerned about your child's safety. You updated the thread 20 mins after your initial post and said she had woken up, so the thing people were concerned about had been resolved.

I'm sorry she isn't well and I do hope she is better soon, but these 2 things are not at all the same.
