To turn down the offer of a free coffee boy?

CoffeeBoy · 03/12/2022 21:07

Name changed as this is outing.

someone on Instagram has messaged me asking if I wanted a coffee boy. Apparently all this entails is that when I have been to Starbucks, etc I message him and say something like “coffee boy pay for my coffee” and he reimburses me. He says he loves paying for ladies coffees ..

cant work out if it’s an odd fetish or if it’s some sort of scam as he’d need my bank account details. I mean obviously I’m not actually going to sign up for this “service” even though free Starbucks sounds tempting but I suspect it’s more a fetish than a scam as his Instagram account seems genuine. Is this a known thing?

Men are bloody weird! That said, I'd be interested in meeting a Plane Ticket Boy who'd pay for my holidays.

No, they’d need to be able to log in to your account to take money out.

Have you people not heard of Direct Debit?

This sounds like one of those pig butchering scam. Not what it sounds like. They innocuously worm their way into your life, befriend you, and then convince you to “invest” money. The link below is from propublica, don’t be scared!

It’s a financial domination kink, referred to as FinDom. It’s a weirdly specific one though, only offering to pay for your hot drinks.

dolor · 04/12/2022 03:41

It's a kink surrounding financial domination. Men like to pay bills for women, or buy things for them via wishlists, some of them even meet women by cash machines to draw money out, and hand it directly too her.

It often intersects with folks who have blackmail and homewrecker fantasies.

Men are peculiar creatures, basically.

There's more to it than all of the above, but it's an actual kink thing.

Could be a kink... I watched some TV show a few months back about bdsm etc. A client of a prostitute used to crawl up to her door, give her money, get called a few names and crawl away. He got the kick out of being financially submissive. I've been rethinking my career choices ever since. Done worse for free.....

😂😂

I was once on Omegle out of curiosity and a man asked if he could be my slave. I said no but then got connected with him again and thought I would try it out. I was writing a dissertation on feminism on social media and got him to make me a spreadsheet of feminist organisations across the uk with their social media handles. He did it for about an hour and I would be stern with him or praise him. And then i disconnected and that was the end of that and he never knew who I was or I him.

Never ventured any further but often think It would be so useful to have an admin slave though. They could renew my car insurance and follow up on my asos return!

There is something beautifully ironic about using a male slave to help research feminist organisations!

daisychain01 · 04/12/2022 06:58

Come on, do you really need to ask, surely you can't be that gullible.

milkysmum · 04/12/2022 07:09

Sounds like he could be a pay pig.
Friend found out her boyfriend was doing this, contacting random women online and offering to send them money/ buy things in exchange for being spoken down to.

notnowB · 04/12/2022 07:52

Nothing surprises me any more. When I was on a hook up site (not for me, as I'm a dater at heart and left promptly), I had men offering to do all sorts for me.
There are SO many fetishists out there.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/12/2022 07:56

Do you have to send a photo in return as proof of purchase?

NoSquirrels · 04/12/2022 08:00

Well, I've learned a lot on MN this morning!

BorgQueen · 04/12/2022 09:40

Why would you want to enable a vile man with his fetish?

That sounds great, I’d defo do it. One time I was selling a pair of trainers on Gumtree and someone messaged asking for pictures for the heel of my feet. I was about 17 and this went on for years, he’d send me £5 everytime😬

🤣🤣🤣
