To turn down the offer of a free coffee boy?

CoffeeBoy · 03/12/2022 21:07

Name changed as this is outing.

someone on Instagram has messaged me asking if I wanted a coffee boy. Apparently all this entails is that when I have been to Starbucks, etc I message him and say something like “coffee boy pay for my coffee” and he reimburses me. He says he loves paying for ladies coffees ..

cant work out if it’s an odd fetish or if it’s some sort of scam as he’d need my bank account details. I mean obviously I’m not actually going to sign up for this “service” even though free Starbucks sounds tempting but I suspect it’s more a fetish than a scam as his Instagram account seems genuine. Is this a known thing?

Hahahaha!
Go you, OP, if this even a little bit real.

Thurst · 03/12/2022 21:49

Sounds like a ‘pay pig’ google it, or on second thoughts don’t.
Creepy weirdos

dawnc27 · 03/12/2022 21:53

id bankrupt him within weeks with the amount of coffee i could drink!

ohblahdeeohblahdahlifegoeson · 03/12/2022 21:55

It's a form of financial kink. Lots of docos on it. It's fascinating really.
Many years ago I was dm'd by a guy who offered to pay me if he could come round and do my house work while I berated him.

I thought long and hard about it before finally saying no haha

poefaced · 03/12/2022 21:56

There have been threads about it. Some men just want to be used for money and like demands for money for shopping.

Blowthemandown · 03/12/2022 21:27

@ScotsWhaHae77
Can try and set up direct debits though!

Without her address or ref number?

ILoveeCakes · 03/12/2022 21:59

Well, you learn something every day, don't you?

polkadotpixie · 03/12/2022 22:00

Sounds great, send him my way please!

5128gap · 03/12/2022 22:02

I'm not a fan of starbucks. But I'd love a Boots Boy.
'Boots Boy pay for my HRT prescription and corn plasters!'
Do you think he'd diversify?

Dontaskdontget · 03/12/2022 22:04

Tell him to give money to charity instead

rugaru · 03/12/2022 22:21

he's a paypig. if you wanted to engage, you could give him your paypal email to pay you through that. if not, ignore. it's not a scam, but he will be getting his rocks off, so decide whether or not you're comfortable with that.

Charlize43 · 03/12/2022 22:23

I would just avoid this as it all sounds too weird.

He may have seen your picture on Instagram and thought up this scam to establish contact with you. His paying for your coffee on a regular basis could then lead him to believe that you owe him something or should show some gratitude.

If it was me I'd walk away from this now.

userxx · 03/12/2022 22:27

He'd be skint after a day with me, I love coffee. How do I contact him ?

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/12/2022 22:27

CoffeeBoy · 03/12/2022 21:11

Oh he covers all coffee venues. I told him I only drink tea but he’ll cover that too.

🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

Right, so all I need to do is get on insta?

Regularsizedrudy · 03/12/2022 22:28

What’s his @ ?

SirGawain · 03/12/2022 22:35

ScotsWhaHae77 · 03/12/2022 21:14

Just because he has sort code and account number doesn't mean he can withdraw your funds. He needs that info to pay in, or give him PayPal. Sorry but can't process the request as it sounds strange but just wanted to clarify that having account details doesn't mean they can access your funds.

No but he’s got a significant piece of your identity jigsaw. Obviously it’s a scam or a ploy to get acquainted with to groom you. Block him now!

MamaRaisingBoys · 03/12/2022 22:36

People offer to pay for all sorts of weird stuff. A guy once messaged my sister asking if he could pay her quite a bit of money to give her a wedgie.

SirGawain · 03/12/2022 22:38

I can’t believe that you are all taking this so lightly.

What’s his @ ?

I’m wondering the same thing😂 I’ll happily let him reimburse me for my £4.15 Starbucks order

TheYearOfSmallThings · 03/12/2022 22:41

There is no such thing as a free coffeeboy.

Yayasisterhood · 03/12/2022 22:50

I was once on Omegle out of curiosity and a man asked if he could be my slave. I said no but then got connected with him again and thought I would try it out. I was writing a dissertation on feminism on social media and got him to make me a spreadsheet of feminist organisations across the uk with their social media handles. He did it for about an hour and I would be stern with him or praise him. And then i disconnected and that was the end of that and he never knew who I was or I him.

Never ventured any further but often think It would be so useful to have an admin slave though. They could renew my car insurance and follow up on my asos return!

CoffeeBoy · 03/12/2022 23:21

His use of the word queen shows it's a fetish - he's a finsub (financially submissive person). But not so submissive that he'll give you a blanket gift card, no, he needs to know about every transaction for wank fodder. Suggest he just send you £100 (or more 00s) to spend as you will, bet he turns it down.
