To not recycle the peanut butter jar?

I don’t eat the peanut butter. ( I would but once I start I can’t stop). DH Orr DD always leaves the PB jar and lid ‘soaking’. This turns the remains ( and today there seemed to be a lot of remains) into a gluey, glutinous mess. I started to clean them out but as the first globby blob hit the sink, I thought to heck with this, and threw it in the bin. Am I bad?

OP I feel your pain. Marmite jars too. Tins also. If it doesn’t go in the dishwasher it’s left, without being soaked, for me to do.
However, I employ tactics as per pp’s and recycle. Whilst grumbling and moaning in my head or even muttering dark words.
DH does clean the dog poo in the garden though and will scrape my windscreen on a frosty morning so I don’t say anything.

I have a silicon scrubbing brush. It works very well on peanut butter.
