To now think my cat has psychic abilities

So something happened this morning that I really cannot explain. My cat was walking past the bookcase, and suddenly jumped in the air and sped away, stopping about a meter away from that spot, she then stopped staring intently behind her at the book case and then 5 seconds later a book fell onto exact spot she was in when she spontaneously jumped. It was as if she knew the book was going to fall in that exact spot about 5 seconds before it even moved from the bookcase.

Really, really strange. 😱

Anyone else have any spooky stories regarding their pets?

Their is a shelf in our house that we cang put breakable items on, as they always get knocked off during the night, sometimes they are mètres away like they've flown through the air. We always joke that there's a ghost, as its a very old house.

A few weeks ago we adopted a cat, and have had a few instances of her seeming to see and react to something that we can't see. Last night she sat in the ghost corner and made yowly sounds like she was about to have a fight!

ooh this is spooky… and yes my cat does that thing where she will just sit and stare at nothing sometimes in the house, that’s kind of creepy … first time there’s been a bookcase incident though… was creepy how the cat seemed to react before the event happened … She’s a black cat too so extra spooky haha 😂

When I had Covid but before I actually tested, both my cats bit my head! I have one cat that jumps on the kitchen unit and we bop heads together. This particular time, he actually bit me and run off. My other cat usually joins me for a snooze on the sofa and lays annoyingly right in front of my face. He got into position then suddenly bit my head. Neither have bit me before.

This is so strange 🤣

Aww yes I have heard of this cat, I wonder how he knows? I think cats are such mysterious creatures , although other animals probably have some sort of 6th sense too.

Sometimes I wonder if they have telepathic abilities too, my DM once told me a story of a previous cat she had, she left the cat outside and her neighbour was going to feed her while my mum was on holiday. So on the holiday my mum kept thinking about the cat and dreaming that the cat was in trouble and needed help. She came back from the holiday early and found the cat shut in a room in the house, she was really dehydrated and weak and the poor thing had been eating her own feaces to survive… My mum is convinced she was telepathically sending her messages… 😯

Ohh yes, my neighbour’s cat was obsessed with me when I was pregnant, even before I had a bump. He used to miaow to come in my flat and cuddle up by my belly on the sofa. Little fluff brain, he was ❤️

TheCurseOfBoris · 30/11/2022 17:58

I could make a mint hiring out my Covid testing cats, hadn't thought of that! Lol.

TheCurseOfBoris · 30/11/2022 18:00

I just googled and cats and dogs can get Covid. I feel awful now.

😂 … maybe your cats biting you on the head was their way of telling you to social distance from them

One of my cats predicted all of my pregnancies - literally within days of conceiving - the first time I was just really confused - due to start IVF told zero chance of natural pregnancy - he turned into a sex pest overnight - literally wouldn't leave me alone - always trying to hump me and he'd be at it hours given half a chance and get really grumpy if I shoved him off. Took him to the vets convinced his neutering had reversed itself or something - vet laughed and told me to take a pregnancy test....yup pregnant! 😂

You can imagine what a horny little bastard he turned into when I fell pregnant with twins 😂

That’s really odd… maybe he could smell the hormones? 😮

I love cats and I love this ❤️

Twilight7777 · 01/12/2022 00:16

that is strange but I have to agree it’s probably because he felt vibration or heard movement before it fell.

APJ1 · 01/12/2022 00:33

I think cats and dogs can smell illness. Amazing.

My dog always knows when my mum's about to have a shingles flare-up, he will incessently try to scratch her on the back and then, a day or two later, there they are.

CatsFreakingMeOut · 01/12/2022 00:41

Oh I hope they're not psychic...

Both my cats separately went into the kitchen last night and again this morning, trying to look up as high as they could, sniffing to see what was there.
I couldn't see anything but it completely freaked me out !!
I mentioned it to my (extremely tall!) son so he videoed the tops of the kitchen cupboards to prove that there wasn't anything hiding up there 😂

Also very appropriate username for the thread 👍

@Passthecheeseboard Yes it was strange, it came flying out too, was quite eerie

I got confused with the two posts that you quoted and thought this was referring to the cat pooing on the kitchen floor! 😆

It's quite simple OP.

You have a ghost. Your cat has been an asshole to the ghost so the ghost tried to get it with a book.

The ghost may or may not be a mouse (or rat).

Do you think animals can be ghosts too? 🤔

Why wouldn't animals be ghosts.

I had just never thought of it, I have owned lots of pets over the years, never felt their ghosts after they have died… But I guess it’s possible, they definitely have souls🤔

Has anyone else had any experiences after the death of their furry friends?

I’ve been joking that we have the ghost of a mouse in our house.

Our cat Dolly suddenly darts across our sitting room and ‘attacks’ some invisible being.
She does it lots and always in the same spot. Nothing to be seen. Well, not by our inferior human eyes.

TrackerBar · 01/12/2022 10:22

My cat always sits in the same place on the sofa, but recently she has started looking past me and then her eyes seem to be fixed on something. Occasionally she will move her eyes around the room and then do that slow blinky eye thing....... at nothing!! I suppose I should be grateful that whatever she is looking at is not evyil!!!

Amberheart · 01/12/2022 20:36

Not my pets but my dad told me this. In the 1930’s he was working for a rancher. Rancher had a stroke so my dad was sitting with him waiting for the doctor. Rancher had another stroke and died. Dogs who were outside started howling and the horses took off.
