I'm no Tory / Hancock fan, but in fairness the decision was supported by Public Health England and at the time there was insufficient awareness re asymptomatic transmission

They are, but it's generally the ones with the smaller majorities who can see they're not going to hold their seats. Hancock's is like 25k. His is one of the few seats that probably will still have a Tory MP after the next GE, which is what makes the constituency association response to him more interesting than someone with a 4k majority deciding not to waste the next two years of their lives on a pointless endeavour.

MH had an interesting conversation with Chris Moyles about the role of ministers.

He said it's not your job to be a subject matter expert in your role - you have a team of SMEs to advise you and a minister's role is to communicate that advice clearly in parliament and to the public.

I think it's a bit tragic to vote for Matt Hancock (I personally don't mind him) for a negative reason (to piss off 'lefties') rather than to cast a vote for a positive reason and choose Jill, who is a warm, kind, tough, resilient woman and an excellent role model

People are voting for Matt Hancock because they like ,him just read the comments section on the many, many articles about how the general public" hate" him who totally contradict the articles ,I know this is hard to grasp for some people ,but that's why he's still in the competition,that does ,nt mean those voting for him are thick or stupid they just have a different opnion, to the very vocal left voters .

Again we seem to be missing here how much some of his fellow right wingers don't like him. Although I suppose it's possible that the vice chair of his constituency association might have wanted him in until the end to maximise the amount of trials he might be asked to do.

We're voting Jill to win as seems a genuinely lovely person.

But Chris Moyles is such an annoying, arrogant twat that it has sometimes made me tempted to vote Matt just to make him realise that the public find Matt a lot less fucking annoying that him.

I think I'm one of the people mentioned on here who has separated the politician from the person.

Matt the camp mate has been decent enough to watch and hasn't been an arsehole unlike Moyles and Charlene.

But still all votes for Jill. Hoping this will be a good springboard for her having some good TV gigs now her football years are behind her.
