Who is your favourite?

OP posts:
I8toys · 26/11/2022 15:12

Matt - I am impressed that absolutely nothing fazes him. He seems intelligent and has an interesting backstory apart from the politics. Mike - dull, Jill - nice but dull and Owen - not sure if I believe his thicko act and dull.

How can anyone not think Jill Scott doesn't have an interesting back story? She's a Lioness!

I8toys · 26/11/2022 15:34

I'm talking about the unexpected jockey story and being diagnosed with dyselxia at Oxford and his dad inventing some tech software. I don't know anything about Jill apart from football.

I8toys · 26/11/2022 15:35

Oh she has a cake shop.

HumphreysCorner · 26/11/2022 15:37

I'm using my 5 free online votes every day on Matt, seen a different side to him.

The cleverest thing Matt has done is not rise even once when other people were cross with him. He just smiles back and says thanks for telling me.

to some that comes across as humble and redeemable. To me it smacks of complete calculated hypocrisy and game playing.

a human being who is never riled is untrustworthy at a minimum and probably also not listening.

also ‘I just fell in love’ <bashful face> is the single most disgusting and inadequate excuse for humiliating your wife and children in the press and breaking your own lockdown rules as health secretary in the midst of a pandemic. I don’t care that he fell in love with someone else (it happens, it’s not my business) but the fact that as a government minister he couldn’t keep his hands to himself and put ‘new love’ above his own covid regulations is inexcusable.

Also utterly competitive. He knew that to gain acceptance within the camp (from mostly decent people) he had to win stars and be a decent campmate. He made winning the stars look almost easy. He did it with a smooth veneer - so I was almost wondering about a psychopath. The "I fell in love" was dreadful, as is Seann's excuses.

I8toys · 26/11/2022 15:39

That's what makes him more fascinating. To keep up that facade for that long.

SaySomethingMan · 26/11/2022 15:40

girlmom21 · 25/11/2022 22:10

He's been pretty humble and 'normal' - as much as you could expect him to be normal.

He's a bit socially awkward and has done well and tried hard to fit in. I think lots of people have been able to separate Matt Hancock the Health Secretary from Matt the campmate.

🤮

Janieread · 26/11/2022 15:48

No wonder we ended up with Boris Johnson as PM. I'm truly amazed that people like Matt Hancock.

www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/24773/matthew_hancock/west_suffolk/votes

Not a nice guy by my standards. Voted for restrictions on legal aid (including for domestic violence victims), against laws to promote equality and human rights and against paying higher benefits over longer periods for those unable to work due to illness or disability. Hardly a prince among men.

Totally agree but you’ll just get ad nauseous on this thread ….

I’m voting for him because might annoy some lefties and he’s good at the trials (so bugger those with disabilities or long term illnesses)

LimitIsUp · 26/11/2022 16:39

Jill. That is all

Willmafrockfit · 26/11/2022 17:16

that must be the same for all politicians
they are hardley going to rise, or chuck an egg back at your

From another website I use:
“The High Court found MH responsible for >20,000 deaths (an estimated 29,000 EXCESS deaths in care homes because of him).

He awarded contracts to his local landlord and friend (£30m) for testing vials that he had no experience of producing (any medical equipment). Hancock still tries to deny this despite mutlitpe text messages being released showing their discussions. Hancock stipulated that the production HAD to be done by his friends company as a subcontractor. Over 8 million test tubes were recalled due to quality issues...how surprising from a company who had never done anything like this before and only "in" was being Hancocks friend.

Hancock tried to ambush and disrupt the vaccine development and testing (Dame Kate Bingham task force chair) because he was "aggrieved" not to be leading it.

Nurses and care workers were wearing bin bags as PPE!

He personally hired his mistress, paid her with our money and broke his own social distance rules while we missed funerals and people died alone. This is after appearing on TV to say that the police should be involved when others were caught breaking lockdown rules.

Thats not even the half of it but I'm sure you get the gist.

No other serial killer would be getting paid £400,000 to appear on reality TV and given exposure to publicise their forthcoming book. All while collecting their MP wages paid for by the people of West Suffolk who he's abandoned to pursue the rehabilitation of his reputation for his own gain and "pivots" conversations. He didn't ask for forgiveness for killing all those people he wants "forgiven" for getting caught having an affair to allow him to make even more money. Not even an acknowledgement of how he treated his poor wife.

The mental gymnastics needed to find anything redeemable about that oxygen thief is beyond me.“

I know he’s come across really well by completing trials successfully, by being a lovely chatty, friendly camp mate, but I find it difficult to like the man given what he did during covid. Were he not Matt Hancock, I might unite like him, especially the whole jockey thing, but I can’t reconcile what he did with how he’s appearing in the show. It will be very interesting to see if he keeps in touch with anyone post show.

I liked Scarlette, I think she went far too early.

Owen is tedious, surely he can’t be that stupid? I wonder if half of it is an act, he has come out with some intelligent comments.

Having BG on struck me as pretty outrageous given his conviction.

Not sure on Mike, he seems like a decent bloke, not sure why a pp mentioned bullying.

I was glad to see Sue go, she struck me as a moaner and did nothing.

Willmafrockfit · 26/11/2022 17:30

serial killer?

Willmafrockfit · 26/11/2022 17:31

considering he was not first, second or even third voted out @Cherrysoup , i think he must be doing ok in the public opinion

formulatingAresponse · 26/11/2022 17:31

ghostyslovesheets · 25/11/2022 21:54

Yes - he emotionally and verbally abused his GF it was all over the press when he snogged his strictly partner and she left him - vile behaviour

How do we know that's really true ?

Nadal · 26/11/2022 17:31

I think Matt not being fazed by anything - trials, comments etc sums him up. He has tefal shoulders and really doesn't care about anything.

You’re making out it’s an article? As I said, it’s a quote-in full-from another discussion forum I use, not a newspaper or something, just someone’s post.
