Posting for traffic to be truthful! I have a job that will require me to commute to BBC Television Studio. There no longer is a car park and I can't even see a private one from aerial maps.I prefer to drive as severely anxious on public transport.

What do people do?! Surely the TV presenters don't take public transport to these places!?!

DH works the other side of Westfield to the BBC studios and parks in the Westfield car park if he drives in. Sign up for smart parking which bills you directly, think it’s about £12 for a working day equivalent.

It’s not cheap and it can take him a couple of hours to get home if the congestion is bad (should be a 35 min journey) which is why he doesn’t drive routinely but it’s an option for him occasionally.

The OP hasn't said its every day. It might be they only need to commute there once a week or once a month.

It's not that unusual to have to travel a long distance to a work place every so often.

There are a few options that others have already outlined. A friend commutes by car to outer London to a cheap parking space (to save money) then cycles the last part of his commute using a folding bike in the back of the car. It takes longer than public transport but he does it to keep a lid on cost.

In the longer term it might be more sensible to tackle your anxiety around public transport, since it will likely be cheaper and if your primary mode of commuting fails, your workplace will expect you to use public transport. Maybe talk to your GP and see what they would suggest.
