To be surprised to learn Adrian Chiles is married to the editor of the Guardian?

Not sure why I'm surprised that he's married to Kath Viner but at least that may explain why he's got a weekly column. And there I was wondering why they were paying him to write such drivel!

I was puzzled the first couple of times I read his column because I thought more was coming. Then I realised he just doesn’t have anything much to say and haven’t read any since. The penny dropped when I read about his wife/partner on another mn thread.

Do any other guardian readers remember the Max gogarty affair? Lad writing a column about his gap year whose dad wrote for the Graun was torn to shreds in the comments... I don’t think there was a second column. Guess they’ve learnt their lesson and won’t be allowing comments for AC.

AC is my weird crush. Always liked him.
