To want the delivery driver to give me 25 seconds to answer the door?

Some of them just ring the bell and then immediately come round the back and start throwing things over the gate.
It takes me about 20 seconds to leave my garden office, skip across the garden, enter the house and answer the door.
So, I'm standing there waiting for them to come back round, or I could chase them round the side.
If they wait they could hand me the delivery, which would probably be easier than having to indicate they've left it somewhere.

I guess at least your delivery drivers ring your doorbell! Some of ours just leave the package so I have no clue it’s there! Have left delivery notes and instructions online etc but to no avail.

Have to be on full alert for deliveries when it’s raining so stuff doesn’t get soaked!

I think we all know why they do it but it's still not right. We accept it though because we're not prepared to pay more for delivery. I have 2 on line accounts that have all inclusive delivery and collection for just £9.99 a year!
I generally get things delivered to Asda or my local One Stop to avoid ring n run scenarios

I clearly have low standards.

I would be pleased if the Evri and DPD people actually knocked on the door. Angry

Happened again this week they send a notification "Sorry we missed you" when I have been sat about 3m away from the door, waiting for them. (Automated from unmanned address so can't text / ring back to say "I AM HERE").

I do feel sorry for delivery drivers. I expect they are on impossible time limits and working for crap pay, but I can't help thinking it would still shorten their working week if they actually tried a bit harder to deliver the parcels.
