Just looking for a nice relaxing week away after what will be a hectic couple of months. Wont be until May/June, its an area neither of us have visited. 2 maybe 4 adults no pets no kids. Probably coastal, but not ruling out any thing else.
Give me your suggestions please.

AllI can do in reiterate all the posts about this lovely part of the world, if you're looking for places to stay I can thoroughly recommend this place, not hideously expensive but very handy for everywhere being just the land side of the A1.

All of the above except Seahouses, it is not lovely, ok for a beach walk and some fish n chips but quite a bit less "nice" than the other places mentioned, slot machines and quite a lot of tracksuits (not for sport).

How do you know that's where you caught covid????

Nothing to add to everyone else's wonderful suggestions OP 😁.

It was the only place I'd been inside in the last 3 days, apart from that it was just walks on beaches away from anyone so we could only imagine it was there (plus the guy standing close to me and coughing 🤣)

If you go up to Seahouses you can go on a puffin and seals boat trip round the Farne Islands.
Alnmouth is beautiful.
Further north is Holy Island- stunning.
Amble and Druridge Bay areonly about15 minutes north of Blyth and they are both great- Amble is a small town on the coast - Harbour Inn does great fish and chips, you can walk along the pier and seal watch and see the fishing boats come in- fab views up the estuary to Warkworth (wellworth a visit) . Druridge Bay is a fantastic beach to walk on- miles of sand and usually empty.

I'm biased- Northumberland is my favourite place.

Beacon hill farm. Cottages and a spa. Near Morpeth

I’ve stayed at Slayley Hall Hotel and Spa a few times. Stunning place in amazing grounds. Used it as a base to explore from really as its very much on the countryside.
I love Northumberland. I really need to go back soon.

Have previously stayed in Glanton, about 10 miles from Alnwick. Village, saw no one, very, very quiet

Also Embleton on the coast, not far from Dunstanburgh Castle.

Both fab, cheaper than the usual suspects. Love the area

I had a two night stay here, last March - lovely location, very nice people running the hotel: dunstanburghcastlehotel.co.uk

I’ve also stayed in a couple of B&Bs in Alnmouth - another great location!
