To think this is not right teaching

DD forgot her school book today and the teacher asked them to write an essay starting with: I am sorry for my rubbishness, I am sorry for my lameness.

Is this correct? Should I complain or just normal in the state system with so many teachers some good and some not so good/rubbish 😂

Oldest DD goes to a private school and has never had anything like that; her tutor did ask them to write similar essay in those circumstances but not calling themselves rubbish

Sure.

pointythings · 09/11/2022 20:11

What now?

Also why does one of your DC go to private school and the other doesn't?

TheWurst · 09/11/2022 20:11

Well the grammar is all wrong for a start.

MollieMarie · 09/11/2022 20:12

I'm sure this happened.

Happyhappyeveryday · 09/11/2022 20:12

Shocking grammar. That isn’t right!

thistimelastweek · 09/11/2022 20:12

Is rubbishness a word?

TowerStork · 09/11/2022 20:13

Choice of words is weird too

drkpl · 09/11/2022 20:13

Get her to write an essay on unless teachers instead

Lulu1919 · 09/11/2022 20:14

If this it true you need to move to a better school !!!!

Petuni9 · 09/11/2022 20:18

DD2 did not get into private education; didn’t want to go to school with too much homework and frequent exams. She goes to a very good state school which is the right fit for her and is in general very happy with the school; but this got me thinking.

It is the literacy teacher 😟

TheWurst · 09/11/2022 20:18

Literacy? It’s this totally real school primary then?

Pewterschmitt · 09/11/2022 20:37

Did you see this essay?

WeAreAllLionesses · 09/11/2022 20:40

ODFOD

Ask your fictional DD to ask her fictional Literacy Teacher in the fictional school what that means if you don't know.

And grow the fuck up.

DeliberatelyObtuse · 09/11/2022 20:41

Lameness?

Is she a horse?

Petuni9 · 09/11/2022 20:58

Petuni9 · 09/11/2022 20:59

It is year 7; it wasn’t a essay but a paragraph saying why books are important but starting the paragraph as I already mentioned. She just showed it to me

OP posts:
Petuni9 · 09/11/2022 21:00

TheWurst · 09/11/2022 21:17

Literacy in year 7, is it not just English at that level?

Petuni9 · 09/11/2022 21:25

She has 2 different English teachers; but she says one is for English and the other one is literacy; however the timetable says English for both

OP posts:
PonyPatter44 · 09/11/2022 21:27

But why would a teacher of literacy be so demonstrably illiterate? Is this an English-speaking state school in the UK?

Petuni9 · 09/11/2022 21:31

Yes, outstanding English speaking school in London
