To ask how I can become "rich"?

I know this sounds ridiculous.

I would like to be a high earner, I grew up working class and my knowledge in this area is lacking. I have tried to do my own research but found it difficult, with a lot of opposing answers and many sites/people just trying to sell!

I am doing a midwifery degree, I have always been academic and considered law but I knew I would find it boring.

What can I/should I do so that I can become a high earner?

I dream of nice cars, holidays and not having to worry about stretching until the end of the month. I'd also love to be able to send DC to private school.

I am open to anything.

Did you forget your meds today?

Yeh you should probably leave midwifery asap if you think mental illness is something to be mocked

80-100k may seem rich to you and I can understand that, but I know some people taking upwards of a million, before taxes.

I am aware that million and billionaires exist. Like you said, that is rich to me. I also said it was the minimum I'd be satisfied with. I do realise it isn't objectively rich.

Fair points,

Dreamwhisper · 08/11/2022 02:54

Data on the average annual gross salary percentiles in the United Kingdom in 2022showed that the bottom ten percent of full-time workers earned an average of 19,403 British pounds a year, with the top ten percent of workers earning around 62,583 pounds a year

FFS earning 80-100k clearly puts you in the minority of some of the highest earners un the UK population. I know on MN all your mates earn £400k but I don't think it's fair and is extremely obnoxious that the focus of this thread is "Ugh, she thinks that's rich?"

Post with helpful advice or just keep your opinions to yourself? The topic isn't "what do you consider rich"!

But I'm guessing in the profession your in, do you know if you can be come rich as you want to be ?

AliensAteMyHomework · 08/11/2022 02:54

You have been told you are wrong by multiple people. Why not take this as an opportunity for self reflection, instead of embarrassing yourself further?

Multiple people saying something doesn't make them right.

And wow. Seriously? You wonder why you've not progressed into careers? It's not hard to see why.

Dreamwhisper · 08/11/2022 02:54

I mean it also sort of is objectively rich though....

Careers? I am 22. I have had one career that I am currently doing extremely well in.

If you could read, you'd already know that.

What about onlyfans as and extra top up ?

Thanks for posting this, even at a very late stage. Everything else in the thread makes far more sense in this context.

I hope you get well soon.

I understand you may be doing well, but you are unlikely to become rich from it

Dreamwhisper · 08/11/2022 02:58

What the fuck is wrong with you people do you genuinely have nothing better to do with your lives than troll a young mother wanting to further her outcomes?

Do better with troll policing mumsnet, people posting threads in vulnerable positions shouldn't be subject to this shit.

I respect the women that willingly do this, but it's definitely not for me.

With all due respect, this is mumsnet and people have different levels of robust debating.

I know, I have already said on this thread multiple times that I am aware. I was aware before I started.

Why do you feel the urge to "robustly debate" on a careers advice thread. The arrogance and entitlement of feeling the need to "debate" and derail the hell out of other people's threads is ridiculous.

Your attempts to pretend that you're not being an absolute tit are very transparent.

Hold your horses,.I'm actually trying to help the op, I'm not sure about others, but I believe my posts have helped to a degree.

Anyway just because you think x does not equal correct.
I'm certainly not trying to derail the thread other wise what's the point of the thread.
As with a question some times to answer the question you have to consider various factors before arriving at x conclusion

Strong no to law - just finished work and will be starting again in a couple of hours. The money is good but you pay in lots of different ways.
