….to get pleasure from something really childish? (lighthearted!)!

It’s raining BUCKETS here….so loads of huge puddles and standing water on the roads out here in t’country. I’m in my late fifties but I just LOVE driving through big puddles and making a huge splash (assuming it’s safe to do so, ie a quiet road, no pedestrians nearby & no front gardens etc to flood by me doing it). Does anyone else get a childish pleasure from doing something you really ought to have grown out of by now?!

We drive on a country road to school and there’s joy all round if it’s been raining. There’s a certain part at the bottom of a small slope that’s an excellent puddle area. (Single track road with passing places so no risk to anyone else before the killjoys complain)

Love colouring in. I did an amazing picture at school (work) last week. The rest of the time it’s fucking shit so if I get 10 minutes of joy to colour in it perks me up.

Yes to so many of these. If I'm walking on virgin snow, I love to make a kind of looping the loop type of pattern in it. When I was teaching, if there was snow then the school playground before the children arrived was a brilliant place to do it. My HT once came into my classroom saying "I knew you were in, I saw the loops in the playground".p

I like looking in rock pools

love walking on fresh snow and in fallen leaves

get the giggles in meetings when the word aroused is used (it’s a term often used in clinical mental health meetings)

Paddling, wave jumping, rock pooling, beach combing, climbing trees, walking on walls, the trampoline park, lego, playdough, kinetic sand, having insects walk on my hands.... I'm in my 40's.

While I'm waiting for the kettle to boil I sometimes take a knife from the drawer, hold the blade on the counter and twang it so it makes that boiiiiing noise.
I am easily amused.

I'm doing this in the morning

I love walking in the rain, once you get going it's weirdly liberating! I always feel refreshed & upbeat afterwards when I get home take off the wet coat and boots and have a cuppa.

I also love driving in the dark with the roof down (my old soft top mini) in the summer months, I feel like I'm in an old movie with the wind rushing through my hair in the fresh air, almost as if I'm doing something naughty that no one else can do!

Wow so many people like driving through big puddles!
im probably in the minority that likes the reverse of this… I actually love to be splashed by a passing car/4x4 the bigger and muddier the puddle the better…
would anyone here like to splash me?? Xx

I get a lot of childkie pleasure from conkers. When they're just out the shell and are cool in your hand, firm and shiny. Beautiful.

We make squeely wheels noises when one of us take a turn at a bit too high speed.

if I do something clever I insist on a ‘patronising head pat’ off my achievements.

I like completing those silly long checklist about why your friends are great and mailing them to them.

At this time of year I like stepping on and squashing acorns and crabapples.

Catching snowflakes on my tongue.

I love colouring in!! Does that count?
I also love playing dolls… doing their hair and dressing them up. Only had a DS, so it never happened - but I was very popular when I helped out at a playgroup years ago🤣
I do try to ‘style’ the dogs fur when I’m brushing her… but she shakes herself and it’s all gone!

Colouring in is for adults. Have you not seen all the adult colouring books around.

Deffo not just for children.
