I really struggle to see any positives! We've been living in austerity for years and still don't have any money! WTF have they done with all the money and how they hell have they been allowed to run this country into the ground? They complain they don't want unskilled migrants coming into the country but a bunch of unskilled, self serving politicians have been allowed to cause misery for millions over the past decade. Depressing! Please tell me they won't survive another GE.

Wasn't it after Blair and Brown that the coffers were empty - when the new Cons government got in.
Also they allowed free movement of Easter Europeans which imv caused Brexit.
And they relaxed the drinking laws so you can buy it from supermarkets and drink all night. And relaxed gambling laws to the sad state we have now where it's a serious social problem. Oh, and wan't there a war going on then.........?

Yes it was - although not as empty as they are now - because there was a global recession in 2008 and Brown bailed the banks out to prevent our entire economy crashing.

They did throw a banging Christmas party a couple of years ago.

TheHateIsNotGood · 03/11/2022 20:12

And also what has any Government done for "this country" (which one OP?) over the last 22, 32, 42....112, 312, 1012, etc years?

In a nutshell OP, let's hear it........

WTF have they done with all the money

Transfered it from the public to the private sector. That has always been the Tory modus operandi. They're essentially a reverse Robin Hood but they do a brilliant job of tricking enough of the plebs into thinking they'll be the one's receiving the loot and not the ones being robbed.

Frankly tory voters deserve everything ounce of stress and struggle they'll now have to deal with, it's just a shame the rest of us will be dragged into the abyss with them.

At least we’ll have the joy of seeing them kicked out before too long. I remember my elation in May 97 and I really think it will be eclipsed next time.

Introduced gay marriage.
Massively expanded and improved trans rights.
Extended UK abortion legistlation to NI.
Destroyed the UK.

Mooloolabababy · 03/11/2022 20:48

Lined their owns pockets and made sure they gave lucrative contracts to their mates, regardless of whether they could deliver or not.
Complete shower of shits

Our taxes bailed the banks and somehow they never had to pay us back - hence the start of austerity.

lightand · 04/11/2022 05:48

They have stopped other parties getting in.
More than a good enough reason alone, for some.

Scepticalwotsits · 04/11/2022 06:03

Whizzi24 · 03/11/2022 18:21

Erm, way back in the Cameron days there was same sex marriage legislation. Think that's all they've got to show for the duration of their governance.

To put into perspective there was a massive Tory rebellion over it. It only got through because of Labournsupport for the motion not because of the torys and only hit the agenda because of the Lib Dems

Guavafish1 · 04/11/2022 06:24

nothing

They have raided the public purse (reverse Robin Hood take from poor to give to he rich), destroy public services and alienated the UK economy. There are no moderate Tory’s … Bojo got rid of them…so dangerous

but England loves the Tory parties racist and xenophobic language. They will continue to govern because of it!

hope Scotland leaves, Ireland unite and wales go too

TheWolves · 04/11/2022 06:38

The only good thing they've done is make excellent meme fodder with their endless incompetence.

supertato32 · 04/11/2022 06:48

@Guavafish1 sadly I feel your right! Whenever they feel threatened they stir up and the immigration/racism card!

Why was that sorry excuse for an Home Secretary seen getting a helicopter to Kent? Seriously! It's an hour on a fucking train and their she is swanning in as if she's the President trying to stop a nuclear attack! The cost of that is probably eye watering, but no fucks given because the public are more upset that an illegal immigrant gets £20 a week to live on!

@TheWolves this is true! Mogg memes are the best!

They got us out of the Eu so the population can no longer blame the EU for the many problems. We have now switched to blaming Putin. The guy is evil but the fact that you can only get GP appointments privately isn't because of him.

I voted Remain btw.

Ah come on now, it's not all the fault of immigration and Putin, don't forget all those benefits claimants that get mansions and £100k a year to live on because they've chosen benefits as a life style choice, and the low wages workers who just don't work or try hard enough to do any better for themselves............

supertato32 · 04/11/2022 07:05

@Maverickess and don't forget all those young people, who spend far too much money on coffee and avocado on house, rather than buying properties!

The only one I can think of is bereaved parents leave, and I only know about that because it affected a friend of mine

Yeah but they also changed widowed parents allowance so you are only entitled to it for 18 months now instead of being able to claim until the children are 18 didn't they ?
