Bountys out of Celebrations!

Allschoolsareartschools · 03/11/2022 06:56

Just heard that Bounty bars are to be removed from tubs of Celebrations after 39% of people asked said they didn't like them.
I'm disappointed as they're one of my favourites & Milky Way should definitely have gone instead!
Not sure if they're being replaced with something else but AIBU to say they are not the worst chocolate in the tub?
YANBU- they're lovely & should stay.
YABU- no place for the taste of paradise any more.

Hooray! Nobody in our house likes bounties, they normally end up in the bin. I’d much rather more of the others although a swap for the Galaxy truffle would definitely be better.

ouch321 · 03/11/2022 07:21

I remember when they were in metal tins and twice the height of the plastic tubs today.

YellowTreeHouse · 03/11/2022 07:23

YABU. Bounty’s are awful and definitely the least popular.

Love Milky Ways. The right decision was made.

Armadillidium · 03/11/2022 07:23

They should take the palm fat out and leave the bounties.

FennelAndOnions · 03/11/2022 07:24

I hate coconut so I’m quite happy!

janj2301 · 03/11/2022 07:25

I LOVE the dark chocolate bounty. Don't buy celebration/Quality St Etc think they are overpriced.

FourTeaFallOut · 03/11/2022 07:27

Bounty bars are the last ones in the box and only DH will tolerate them. Fingers crossed here that they just replace them with more maltesers.

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 03/11/2022 07:27

Bounties are epic. Take out the boring old Snickers or Mars. They’re bobbins.

SocksAndTheCity · 03/11/2022 07:32

PuckleP · 03/11/2022 07:15

While we're talking about Bountys, why can't I buy the dark chocolate o e anymore. None in any shops near me 😭

The only place I can reliably get them is Sainsbury's (including Sainsbury's Local) 😀👍

Willbe2under2 · 03/11/2022 07:32

I don't particularly like them, but surely if 39% of people don't like them that means 61% do so an odd decision. I'd happily take a whole box of malteser ones though 😆

Abraxan · 03/11/2022 07:33

Bounty is one of my favourite. Dh likes them too.

Riverlee · 03/11/2022 07:33

TheYearOfSmallThings · 03/11/2022 06:59

YANBU. The big bounty bars have too much coconut filling in proportion to the chocolate, but the tiny ones are just right.

I agree.

honeylou42 · 03/11/2022 07:33

Love a bounty 🤎

Georgeskitchen · 03/11/2022 07:39

Grave mistake. The 61% will vote with their feet 😡

I was quite happy to read this thread until someone mentioned it being selected stores and you have to swap an existing tub.
Googled, and chose the above li m as its the East Anglian Daily Times and I'm in East Anglia. I wouldn't have gone to the bother of going ro a special day to swap them, but they haven't even got a location in East Anglia anyway!

Ds2 likes them, but eats the others first so that when they are only bountys left he gets more chocolate.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 03/11/2022 07:42

Whinge · 03/11/2022 07:06

Apparently the limited edition tubs will include additional Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Galaxy and Maltesers sweets to make up for the missing bars.

So lots more horrible snickers then?

CuriousCatfish · 03/11/2022 07:42

They should have taken out the Snickers!

KimberleyClark · 03/11/2022 07:42

Whinge · 03/11/2022 07:11

recently opened 1 of the containers and it was half empty looking.

I'm surprised they haven't made the containers smaller. It would help them look fuller as like you say when you open them it's mostly empty space.

And it says “contents may settle” on the side of the container. Yes, but not THAT much.

stepmad · 03/11/2022 07:44

Brilliant theu are the readin I do not buy those tubs. I do think some one clever could produce two types if tubs think along the lines of marmite advertising.

megosaurusrex · 03/11/2022 07:45

YANBU. Everyone knows snickers are the worst ones. Fuming.

cookiecreammmpie · 03/11/2022 07:46

I don't mind the taste but I hate the gritty texture. So I'll eat them if that's all that's left and I need chocolate, but would always be my last choice.

sanityisamyth · 03/11/2022 07:47

CuriousCatfish · 03/11/2022 07:42

They should have taken out the Snickers!

This. Snickers are vile.

PuttingDownRoots · 03/11/2022 07:47

No snickers and bountys would be perfect.

I live near a Cadbury outlet... so can get pick and mix on their sweets without the nuts and coconut.

oviraptor21 · 03/11/2022 07:53

The problem with Bounties and also Maltesers is that the downsizing messes up the ratio and there is too much chocolate to filling. Also as PP noted, the coconut filling has got a bit dessicated recently. Originally Bounty was my favourite with Snickers a close second. Could get rid of the Galaxy and Milky Way - not enough flavour in either, but bringing back the Galaxy Truffle would be an improvement.

I remember when they were in metal tins and twice the height of the plastic tubs today.

Me too. They made good cake tins.

I saw a metal tin (think it was Quality Street) in Sainsbury’s the other week which made me reminisce. I think it was priced at £15.
