To ask for your best psychological thriller or gritty books for me as I'm on 3 weeks bed rest

I'm starting 3 weeks bed rest and would love some recommendations for my kindle.

Love anything gritty, thriller, psychological.

Also love reading non fiction, people who have really interesting stories to tell for example I read the story of Jaycee Lee Dugard who tells her story of being abducted.

Thanks in advance x

I just read Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister which I really enjoyed

Have you tried Jennifer Crusie the only way I can describe her books is that they are like 1930s screwball comedies. Welcome to Temptation, Faking it, Bet Me and Dogs and Goddesses . They make me smile and I always go back to them

must agree with PrincessMonacoOfKent with The Last Thing to Burn, by Will Dean. Stunning, gripping, breathtaking! Best novel I've read in years.

I have really enjoyed:

Ghost and V2 Robert Harris
Landslide or Tightrope Men Desmond Bagley
Tne Sculptress Minette Walters
For Kicks or Banker Dick Francis

Val McDermid, start with The Mermaids Singing that's the first Tony Hill book and continue from there.

Ah, have you read Educated by Tara Westover? It's a memoir about growing up in an abusive family dynamic in a Mormon community and breaking free.

Psychogical, how about Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier?

Sorry about your bedrest.

Educated is a brilliant book

I've just replied to the same comment twice a few weeks (months?) apart 😂😂

Marigold98 · 14/03/2023 08:12

Oh yes !

Marigold98 · 14/03/2023 08:17

It's actually JK Rowling using a different name...

Haven't read all the replies so don't know if anyone has mentioned this one but Shiver by Allie Reynolds is excellent. I've read a few of this type and this is, imo, still the best one.

WillowKnicks · 14/03/2023 08:38

It's a few years old but I loved Into The Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes. Everyone I recommended it to, found it really gripping too.

WillowKnicks · 14/03/2023 08:42

Oh and I've enjoyed the Dr Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths.
