...putting your hand in a sink of old, cold, greasy washing up water to pull the plug out. Shudder.

Closely followed by having to pull the plug out of someone else's, old, cold bath water.

Oh. Thank you. I think.

Every summer I think oh I'll have one then I remember..

Dashing bare foot to the toilet in the morning and treading in cat shit on the way.
Feeling it squishing between your toes.

Working in a guest house in the seventies one poor woman had a stomach bug and didn't make it to the bathroom so used the sink. not sure how she managed that tbh
I was never able to clean that sink after without gagging.

No ensuite bathrooms in those days.

Why would the water be cold. When washing up water is still hot warm when I’m finished

As you may already know, heated water will eventually go cold. I suspect your faux ignorance is a thinly veiled dig at the OP for not having ALL of her sinks sparkling clean at all times. Which is misguided in itself as the cold greasy water is clearly being left in the sink by a man.

Loving all the faux shock at a normal sink situation.

OK, treading barefoot on a slug in the kitchen is worse. I'll accept that. 🤣 Our kitchen floor has this black splodgy pattern (previous owner) and in the dark you can't differentiate between floor and slug. On more than one occassion I've had that unpleasant experience! Slippers all the way now.

Also on the subject of slugs, when my daughter was younger she was in the bath and screamed. When I rushed in, there was a slug ccrawling out from behind the overflow cover thing. I had to have a tug of war with it to pull it out. Slugs are surprisingly strong!

My dad is staying with me at the minute and he does the washing up, but leaves bits of food in the plug hole. Fishing them out makes me feel ill.

Same for when he leaves puddles on the draining board Envy

Taking a mouthful of coffee and it's gone cold..

When I was teaching managing drink a whole cup of coffee when it was still hot was a luxury, I can recall classes in the afternoon when someone would say Miss, you're not seriously going to drink that. it's been there all day! On more than one occasion a 'helpful' soul has emptied it away.

Stepping in cold cat sick with bare feet.

Biting into a juicy apricot to find it full of maggots.

I see your cat sick and raise you slugs! They would get into the kitchen somehow when it rained and I never wore anything on my feet, not pleasant.

All my sinks are not sparkly clean all the time, just never had a situation where water has been left in long enough to go cold that’s all.

we stack the dishes and do them once a day, the pull the plug?

Wasn’t a dig. Although I’m glad you can read my post and clearly identify exactly what sort of person I am by merely asking how the water was cold
