Why do the national lottery send you the tease email knowing you can’t find out what you’ve won?

FWP I know, and obviously deep down I know I’ve won £2.70 or maybe a fiver if I’m lucky… but why oh why do the national lottery send you an email after midnight telling you that they have ‘good news about your ticket’ knowing they won’t allow you access to your account to see what you’ve actually won if you bought the ticket online? I know there’s probably a really special email if you’ve won big but why the big tease?

I’m going to give Dr Ben a go. What could possibly go wrong?

lol. I wonder if Dr Ben has spells of a more practical or altruistic nature - like getting through to an actual human at a utility company? Or solving the Israeli/palestine conflict? Seems a bit vulgar to save all of that luck for just one person to win money on the national lottery 🤔
