It's time for a general election. Let the people choose.

GreenLunchBox · 20/10/2022 16:54

Why was she smiling/ smirking as she resigned? It's all a joke to her, isn't it?🤔

Excellent picture of Larry, thanks. He says he will only be PM if they fit a 'person flap' at Number 10 because those damn humans keep leaving the door open and it's draughty.

I care about women being protected and feeling safe far more than party politics. Starmer expressly backs politics that threaten the safety of women

And the Tories just voted against safe buffer zones for women attending abortion clinics. What do you have to say about that? Loads of the current cabinet voted against women's abortion rights. What do you think about that?

Just say you're a Tory and sit down.

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 20/10/2022 16:59

Because we are really in a catastrophic way and face peril on so many fronts I think a coalition is the best way forward.

That's just her face I think. She always looks like that.

The men in grey suits removed her. Not really how democracy works in my mind.

Yep. Wouldn’t have happened to a man.

Yes, this ^

queenofthewild · 20/10/2022 18:07

Cameron needs to make a comeback.

Was he a good PM? Absolutely not. But his gamble with the brexit referendum set the wheels in motion. He knew he'd created something he didn't want to deal with and ran off as quickly as he could.

He needs to come back and tidy up the mess that he started rather than lording it on the public speaking circuits and claiming his £115k a year pension.

Momo8 · 20/10/2022 18:09

I'm genuinely gutted that she's resigned tbh

Larry the cat

This reply is so boring. I've seen it on all of the 100 threads about Liz leaving

StoneofDestiny · 20/10/2022 18:14

We need a General Election - outrageous this Tory Party just keep shuffling their inadequate pack and say 'here, try this one now'.

InMySpareTime · 20/10/2022 18:24

@turnitout I just find it a bit sad that the Tories can't put forward anyone more effective than a cat.
If you've seen the comment enough to find it boring, clearly it's a widely held view.

All the Tories were clapping and cheering after the mini budget-not-budget because they agreed with it!

They are hooked on the belief that cutting taxes in order to pour more money into the pockets of the wealthiest of the wealthy, coupled with high austerity, shit (non existent) public services for everyone else while borrowing a fortune in order to do it, right after a period of total crisis, is THE way to go.

They were all in favour on that Friday afternoon.

When the markets opened up after the weekend and the pound began to collapse, because their ideology is such obvious bollocks, suddenly it's "all Liz Truss' fault, she has to go"
They championed her.

They ALL need to go.

i agree

well it was a free vote, some Tories voted for it, some against it, I guess like other parties. It passed the first stage a couple of days ago.

Interesting that you try and limit people who have opinions contrary to your own. Are you normally this controlling and aggressive to people who don’t share your views. Do you suffer from anger issues generally. Do you slap #Bekind on your social media?

it’s unfortunate you lack the capacity to actually interact in a way that isn’t abusive.

so I won’t be sitting down at your command, I suggest you get a dog if you want someone to obey commands like that

for your information I’m a floating voter and my votes have been awarded to the Lib Dems, the Conservatives, Labour and the Green Party through the years, because I actually consider policies rather than blindly follow a certain party.

so I’ll be standing up for my own priorities and be voting accordingly. Meanwhile for you I would suggest lying down in a darkened room to chill the fuck out.

akabluebell · 20/10/2022 20:57

@OMG12 you are absolutely right and I'm staggered women would actually vote for a party with such a dire record on women's rights. Johnson was misogynist proven by his own writings.

Yep, but still women keep
voting labour unbelievable isn’t it when they want to ride roughshod over womens safety.

ilovesooty · 20/10/2022 23:01

Yet another political thread hijacked.

L1ttledrummergirl · 20/10/2022 23:35

As someone who has a dd competing in a sport at a high level, I get the concerns around self ID. I contemplate a future with no safe spaces for women and think about how we need to keep them.

I also currently see women having to use food banks to feed their dc, who are struggling to pay the rent and heat their homes. This is a bigger concern to me and more immediate a threat to women.

I'll deal with the threat of self ID when and if it becomes an immediate more pressing issue than people freezing and starving to death, something that the conservatives under Truss was becoming a reality. Who knows under the next leader which way they will go. They actually used the whip to force their MPs to vote against their own manifesto.

I can't trust them and they need to go.

The irony. You chill the fuck out

akabluebell · 21/10/2022 00:07

@GreenLunchBox I'm so sorry, it was you I was agreeing with not @OMG12 . I quoted the wrong post.

The Tories are a toxic shit show with no honour or integrity, because if they had any they would all have resigned by now.

As for Keir Starmer, he comes across as a wet blanket, but he's a man of great integrity and intellect which is what we need right now.

mathanxiety · 21/10/2022 00:15

low tax, small state economy

Lol, like Mississippi.
