Olaplex making hair worse?

Anyone used Olaplex Bond maintenance shampoo and conditioner and found their hair feels worse off?

I've spent many years professionally highlighting my hair and I've always managed to keep it in good condition with regular cuts and conditioner.

My hairdresser started using Olaplex treatment during my 3 monthly appointments for the last year. There was some issue with hair being lightened too much but we've found a happy place with the use of different toners

Anyway, this last month I've been using the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner at home and my hair is like straw! It's breaking a lot and I have loads of split ends all of a sudden. I don't use heat ( once a week if that and only a hair dryer) nothing else has changed

But the more research I do the more I keep hearing about how amazing it is and not a single negative review which I find odd

Anyone else had sudden unexplained poor condition of their hair? Is it linked to the Olaplex?

My hairdressers told me to stop using it as it was doing more damage than good x

Back to aveda now. Their products are fantastic

The Olaplex salon treatment (1&2) are a lot different to the shampoos and conditioners. The salon treatment is great, i would never bother with any of the at home olaplaex products other than no3.

I gave my set away. I didn’t like it at all.

i use Olaplex religiously and didn’t even consider it could be behind the breakage.
whst are peoples recommendations for more moisture then?

It’ll be the protein. Still use it but just once a month and use a hydrating hair mask when you use the shampoo and conditioner.

I've heard this before. Some hair types don't work well with Olaplex too? The number 3 anyway. Not sure about the others.

I'd heard about this. I have used number 3 and found it made my hair silky and soft, but I haven't used any since and I'm wondering whether to throw away and discard what I have left?

Some are saying it might be Olaplex purchased from third party sellers to blame.

Thank you for publicising this, I'd thought about ordering Olaplex myself. Not a chance now.
Good to hear some alternatives. I like Neutrogena shampoo myself. Also use an Avon detangler, the John Frieda range of potions etc, & macadamia oil on the ends of my hair (it's long.) Any other suggestions that may help other ladies?
