While it’s great if you have a specific question or concern, I’ve realised that general browsing on mumsnet leaves me feeling anxious/wound up. Has anyone else found this? Can’t quite work out why but I think I definitely need to wean myself off it/ restrict my time on here.

It makes me feel rational

Ha ha! There is that. I'm way less weird than I thought.

Not sure if this lives under this question but I have trouble relating to a lot of the things people write on Mumsnet. At the moment I see lots of women who are in relationships where they routinely have a partner shouting in their face. On the other hand, a man who dares to sit next to a woman on public transport and make harmless conversation - he's clearly going to rape her and needs to be put back in his box. Very odd. Most abuse comes from those we already know. Sorry. Had to vent !

I think it's AIBU because everyone has to disagree with such a snotty tone, reading too much of that makes my nerves feel jangled. I get the same from Reddit.

Try goin to customise and hiding AIBU and see if that helps.

YANBU. I mean, the whole premise of the AIBU board is self-doubt which is anxiety. Your feelings are always valid and always make sense based on your experiences and programming.

Thanks @BertieBotts and @B1pbop .

I completely agree with what you're both saying. I suppose I like reading from real life situations but yes, it does lead to a high level of anxiety. I appreciate what you're telling me 😀

Not anxious, but a bit cross sometimes when I see how many threads on "I'm Watching' have been removed because they were started by previously banned posters.
