Lesbians rushing relationships?

ailbailsail · 14/10/2022 19:56

Is this a thing?
I have 3 friends all dating less than 6 months
2 already moved in and engaged and the other saving for a mortgage.
Is this a thing?
I've never known people rush ahead so much

Are you a lesbian?
Do you save this kind of judgement for everyone in your life, or just lesbians?

QuizzlyBears · 14/10/2022 20:06

If it’s not your relationship then I suggest you don’t bother worrying about it/commenting. You sound judgemental.

girlmom21 · 14/10/2022 20:07

Bit weird that this is the 2nd thread today about lesbians rushing relationships

myexisawanker · 14/10/2022 20:08

It's a thing for sure... there's jokes about u-haul vans on second dates.

This was on a lesbian chat group I was on. Maybe it was unique!?

Beansonbeans · 14/10/2022 20:08

Wow. Do you want to take your thinly veiled homophobia somewhere else?

Some of the fastest moving relationships I know have been between straight people..

My anecdata is worth the same as yours.

Indeed!

I speak as a relationship-rushing lesbian whose partner moved in with me after we'd known each other only 3 months and a month after we were first physical with each other.

Been together more than 23 years now...

So...this is a homophobia thread now? We all laugh, or what?

UmbilicusProfundus · 14/10/2022 20:18

Are there any lesbians on this thread who are offended, or is it just straight people offended on their behalf. Yes, a slightly clumsy OP, but…

TrainspottingWelsh · 14/10/2022 20:19

Yes it’s definitely a thing, just like catching the gay is a thing. All gay women are exactly the same, and all their relationships are, and you definitely don’t sound like a massive tool.

Well I guess @myexisawanker might be a weird straight woman who chooses to join lesbian chat groups but...

x2boys · 14/10/2022 20:27

I'm not lesbian and married my dh after 6 months 🤷‍♀️ seventeen years later we seem to be doing OK...

ailbailsail · 14/10/2022 20:27

P.s I'm gay myself
I don't rush into anything so just curious if it's a thing

OP posts:
dailyfup · 14/10/2022 20:28

What's it got to do with you anyway?

greektreacle · 14/10/2022 20:29

@ailbailsail I'm sure if you're gay yourself you have all the anecdotal evidence from your own relationships to fill in the gaps.

Sincerely,

Another gay.

NumptiesIncorporated · 14/10/2022 20:31

Meh. I was living with my ex within about six months. I'm straight.

Someone I know got engaged on day four. They are still together, and have a grandchild. They are straight.

It's not a 'lesbian thing'.

gogohmm · 14/10/2022 20:33

I moved in with dp after 4 months,

Are the relationships working or not?
Anybody could rush into a relationships it wil ether work or it won't I'm not gay I met my dh in the February and we married in the August, lots of people had misgivings and yet here we are after 17 years we have lasted a lot longer than plenaty of those who had misgivings 🤷‍♀️

katmeouws · 14/10/2022 20:33

What do you call a lesbian with long fingernails?

Musti · 14/10/2022 20:37

I know it is a thing with many straight couples. Because you know, the first rush of love and hormones and all. I don’t know enough lesbian couples to generalise. I know that my best friend and her gf kept their relationship secret for a few years because of homophobia from her parents. They did eventually move in together and lived together for a few years.

Heyho711 · 14/10/2022 20:37

married lesbian here… moved in together after 6 months, bought a house after 2 years, married a year later.

I would say we moved the quickest out of both our friendship groups. Not sure if thats a gay thing or just because we both knew what we wanted from life, where we wanted to go etc. Some of our ‘hetro’ friends have been in relationships for 6+years and yet have never lived together… i find that stranger imo!

PoundOfNesh · 14/10/2022 20:40

6 months isn’t that uncommon for most to move in and start saving towards mortgages together. The engaged ones I’ll give you but still not that bad

katmeouws · 14/10/2022 20:41

Single!!!!

dailyfup · 14/10/2022 20:42

Lesbian here.
Relationship moving at snail's pace.
Suits us.

ThirtyThreeTrees · 14/10/2022 20:46

I know 2 straight couples almost on the same time. Will I ask them if they are trying to compete with the lesbians?!

What a weird thread! Most people's relationships move at a the pace they are comfortable with. How does it concern or impact you?
