A parking one

I left for the school run this morning, at 07:30, got back at 08:10, and someone was parked in my private parking space (private as in purchased with the house and I have sole use of)

I left a polite note on the car this morning, asking them to please not park in my private space in future, but to please use one of the visitor bays, that I'm disabled and have a small baby to get out of the car.

As today's gone on, I've found myself quite annoyed. I have nowhere to park, parking is a problem in our estate, I risk getting a parking ticket if I park somewhere I don't have a permit to park in.

The car is still parked outside.

I feel like a right grumpy fucker, but I am disabled (have a blue badge) and its pretty inconvenient that I still don't know where I'll be parking my car tonight and I have no idea how much walking I'm going to need to do to actually leave the house tomorrow.
Looking unlikely the cheeky fuckers going to be moving their car tonight I should think.

I've spent as much time out of the house today as possible in the hope that they'd move, and I wouldn't have to park somewhere that will get me into trouble...but I'm really needing to be home, and I can't really block them in over night can I?

Course you can! It's their own fault.

lightlypoached · 13/10/2022 21:12

The rulz say we need a diagram 😬

That said yes, I'd block them in. CF ers

Looking forward to the update.

FriedasCarLoad · 13/10/2022 21:12

I think it would be fair enough to block them in.

Itisbetter · 13/10/2022 21:12

Yes you can but can’t you just use your bluebadge to park?

Talipesmum · 13/10/2022 21:13

Absolutely block them in if you can do so without being in anyone else’s way or parking illegally.

I’d also replace the polite note with a terse note.

1dontunderstand · 13/10/2022 21:15

Diagram please.

can you block them in?

Soapboxqueen · 13/10/2022 21:17

Block them in

picklemewalnuts · 13/10/2022 21:17

Block them in and display your badge.

Bear in mind though, they may then knock to get you to move.

Comedyusername · 13/10/2022 21:17

Do block them in. And/or maybe you could report it as abandoned.

sandytooth · 13/10/2022 21:19

Block them in.

WhatHappenedToYoyos · 13/10/2022 21:20

Can you call someone to tow them away? I don't know where legally you stand since it's your space and you also have a blue badge.

The problem with towing the car is that if any damage occurs, you'd be responsible for it.

There have been a few examples in the papers where people living near airports have had the same issue.

Andypandy799 · 13/10/2022 21:24

@Blizzardbeach i would block them in and if they knock tell them you can’t drive till the morning as you’ve been drinking cfers

VerifiedBot2351 · 13/10/2022 21:26

Is it marked as a disabled spot? Actually, that shouldn’t matter as it’s a private spot.
block them in.

Asparagoose · 13/10/2022 21:28

Definitely block them in. Inconvenience them as much as possible and lay it on thick about being disabled. Make them feel like shit for pinching your space. Twats.

sandytooth · 13/10/2022 21:29

Stand outside and start yelling?

Jalepenojello · 13/10/2022 21:29

Block them in

SnackSizeRaisin · 13/10/2022 21:30

Block them in

HermioneWeasley · 13/10/2022 21:32

Of course you block them in. CFs.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 13/10/2022 21:35

Block them in. If they come to get it tonight, just say you can't move it till the morning.

Isaidnoalready · 13/10/2022 21:36

Can you set the alarm off?

LumpyandBumps · 13/10/2022 21:36

Could you sit there with your hand on the horn until someone comes and moves it? I assume it’s likely to belong to someone nearby. I realise this will upset others but hopefully they will direct their anger towards the guilty party.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 13/10/2022 21:37

Does your space have a house number on it or is it in a section marked as residents only? they might genuinely not be aware it's private if they've parked there all day? I'd block them in anyway, let them come and ask you to move.... which you unfortunately can't as you have a small baby you can't leave unattended ..... the other thing Id be annoyed at is why has the person they are presumably visiting not let them know it's a private space and asked them to move?

fudgefiesta · 13/10/2022 21:37

Where's the diagram? Grin

You can block them in, but are you able to block them in and still park in a spot where you wouldn't get a ticket? You don't want to end up with a fine too.

mondaytosunday · 13/10/2022 21:42

Is there a company in charge of the parking? If it's your private space, can you get the car towed?
