Now bear with me...

I mean she is succeeding at achieving her own goals. Well what are her goals, I hear you ask:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=uhBtilyGWPo

It's clear that her top priority has always been reducing cheese imports.

Given how much the pound has devalued and the effective reduction in wages from inflation we will not be able to eat anywhere near as much fancy foreign cheese in the future.

Is the destruction of the economy such a big price to pay for supporting British cheese?

It’s not unheard of for someone to make a few mistakes at the start of a new job.
A new starter needs time to settle in.

A few mistakes??

My cheese has more personality & is better spoken.

British Gas has had to take out full page newspaper ads stressing that the 2.5k figure is an average, not a cap, after Truss said it 5 times on regional radio last Friday.

She’s a comms disaster.

I actually watched a lot of the interviews and the hustings this summer and what she did last Friday is what she said she would do.
I've a hunch that having the bigger share of the vote just went to her head. She felt she was invincible. The tories want tax cuts and a smaller state and efficiency savings and this is what she she was determined to deliver after the Queen's funeral. It might have happened even sooner of the Queen hadn't died.
Instead of holding fire and taking on some advice or showing the OBR or the BofE they both went for broke instead thinking this is what people wanted.
On top of the borrowing already for the energy companies it was a bad move , but she can't see it this way.
It's not been costed out either. Tax cuts that benefit higher earners, it's always going to be controversial.
As Michael Gove pointed out today.
How anyone can get away with it is astonishing, but they probably will.

Theresa May knows how to tell a cheese anecdote, bring her back.

ReeDeeHee · 02/10/2022 22:25

If you're the Labour Party she's a roaring success, yes.

I know. She needs to brie a bit more conservative with a small "c" and tread Caerphilly.

witchesbubblebath · 02/10/2022 22:29

OP, if you're going by the perspective that Liz Truss is a success in her own eyes then yes. She has achieved her goals, but at what cost to other people?
