to be worried that my dd is on her first night out at a club?

I've had a colourful life but my dd is now at her first night out to a 'club' or whatever they're called these days (just turned 18). AIBU to be like a clocking hen? I know that she's going out with a large bunch of close friends but I'm not going to sleep until she gets home (she's staying the night with her friend who seems sensible).

How do you more experienced mums cope with the stress? 😫

It's a worrying stage.

I often wondered why DM was so annoying when she'd spend time worrying about "what if" situations with four daughters. 🙄

Now as a parent I think I'll be worse than she was.

Bless them. You can't save them from heartache. You try to save them from the bigger dangers but when they're adults you can't technically worry anymore.

Why would I be worried? DD BECAUSE I KNOW THINGS which I'm not going to reveal to you lol

I am so worried about this stage and my eldest DD is only 6! Did you get any sleep OP?

I hope my DD is more sensible than me, I didn't have a care in the world and did put myself into some really silly situations. My parents let me do whatever I wanted and didn't really keep tabs on me, now I'm a parent I don't know how they were so laid back!

Chatting with dd today though her bff's Mum doesn't allow her dd to drink. Said dd (along with my own angel) have been drinking for at least 18 months. Now I feel responsible for both of them!

I fell asleep at about 4am having concluded that had anything gone wrong, I would have been informed.

You really don't know what you sign up for when you have a child!

Don't tell me that!! I thought that it would end at 18. Like a sort of an end of a contract. It doesn't!

So so so hard! I never get any sleep from
worrying. OH can though! Baby stage is a walk in the park compared to this!

I haven't found any part of parenting easy! I almost feel their pain! It's a weird thing isn't it. The newborn stage was easy. You sort of keep them safe, warm, fed, snuggled and get absolutely no sleep. Then they go to school and they fall out with friends and you are so sad that they are sad. I absolutely love my dd 100% and unconditionally, but man this parenting lark ain't easy.

Meanwhile dd has no idea how much I am worrying about her!
