Private hearing test for child

Is there anywhere that does private tests for a child? My DD keeps saying she can't hear and it seems genuine (no illnesses and this has been going on for a few months so not just a temporary blocked ear)

Can't be arsed with trying to get a GP appointment then wait for a referral etc, we can afford a private test but no where seems to do them for a child? Any ideas? Thanks

We have had a similar issue. Took my son (age 5) to Gp in May and have an appointment for consultation with NHS for December!

We decided to go privately and saw Tracey James in Newbury who saw us immediately.

He has been diagnosed with glue ear and we are going privately again to have grommets. It seems The Candover Clinic in Basingstoke is the best price for the surgery.

Thank you. Having had grommets myself as a child I'm now feeling guilty for getting shouty with my daughter for having to repeat myself a lot recently! Will Google glue ear.

My DS is 5, I put in an e-consult and saw the GP a few days later. She did a quick check to make sure nothing blocking etc and then sent off for the referral. He was seen quite quickly and they diagnosed glue ear with some hearing loss in one ear and made a follow up appointment for 3 months later to see if anything needs to be done. Because it was NHS this has fed in to his other appointments, assessment for ASD so has been quite helpful in that way.

My HV service is for 0-19 so I don't see why they wouldn't help, but if they don't just contact the GP instead.

Where I am, Health Visiting is for under 5's. School nurses take over at 5 although they work differently, and moat children won't have any contact with them.

You can self refer to NHS Paediatric Audiology in our area, not sure if it's the same everywhere though. Perhaps try phoning or emailing them direct to request an appointment.

Google found these contact details:
