Friday night pig out meal

Everyonelovesharry · 30/09/2022 14:59

It’s dh’s night to put Dd to bed..from 7.30 onwards, I’m planning a night of Netflix, Totp 2 & Gogglebox.
Fancy an easy selection of crap foods to pig out on too 🤣it’s been a healthy week and now I’m starving.
I don’t drink anymore, so it’s all about the food.
I’m thinking maybe nachos/crisps and dips or pizza and something chocolatey, coke (drink it about twice a year) maybe cheese, crisps and mayo on white bread 🤔
What’s your go to?

If getting takeaway, I do like KFC. Not wanting to be the voice of reason..but takeaway pizza normally means having double what we need....and it's not helpful for getting back on the healthy bandwagon...but pizza is good, there's normally a deal, resulting in wedges, chicken bits, maybe warm cookies...

Fish and chips is also nice...but requires adventuring out. Pros being its not so filling there's no room for snacks.

If no takeaway, a good homemade burger, or wrap. I think it's mcains triple cook chips that are absolutely delicious but are practically shallow frying in the oven in goose fat.

Bit late for pulled pork unless you have a pressure cooker. I also like the rotisserie chicken, with a crusty loaf, chips and salad for posterity maybe stuffing if I can be bothered.

Snack wise. Minstrels, maltesters. Nachos definitely. Popcorn. Feeling fancy....a fondue?

A huge salad perhaps?

It would need to be massive surely 😃

Obscene amounts of sliced onions slowly fried for about an hour 😋

Surely not on its own?

XmasElf10 · 30/09/2022 16:56

Dirty Chinese yummmmmmm

Oh yes!

Lsquiggles · 30/09/2022 16:57

I'm starving, tired and cba to cook so gonna have a large doner meat and chips with a scallop and curry sauce tonight - can't wait!

If I really wanted to pig out I'd eat a pack of jaffa cakes too 😁

allfurcoatnoknickers · 30/09/2022 17:03

Vietnamese - a huge steaming bowl of Pho with a Bahn Mi and maybe springrolls too if really pigging out. Alternatively I'd get Thai and get a Pad Thai and spring rolls. Yum.

Huge bowl of pasta with lots of cheese.

I thought I was the only one who does this!

One of those awful looking warm rotisserie chickens that come in a plastic bag from the hot section of the supermarket, and a French stick with an inch of butter on it. Heaven!

As it’s getting a bit chilly all extra food is justified IMO 😁

I’m Gluten-free and lactose-free and do miss a ‘proper’ takeaway pizza!

I’m doing myself an Asian duck salad as a treat tonight, followed by honey roasted cashews, Mrs Crimbles Bakewell slices and Cherry Pepsi Max

Have you tried Morrisons fresh pizza counter? They cater for both those and this is what I’m having for tea tonight (although I’m not lacto free they still do the free from cheese or could ask for no cheese and put your own on?) as a coeliac it’s a risk I only take at a weekend Incase they mess up and cross contaminate but so far so good!! They take like proper dirty takeaway pizzas :)

Did I miss an update from OP telling us she was a rabbit in disguise?

If not, an Indian takeaway will do nicely. With some ice cream to end the evening.

Joystir59 · 30/09/2022 17:20

Pizza then Maltesers

Eileen101 · 30/09/2022 17:27

Ah beaten to it on the MN massive saladSad

good job DH has been dispatched to the chippy for the fish and chips. I also have dairy milk stashed for when he goes to choir later Grin

I know it's only September but I have a Camembert with a sourdough loaf for dipping for tonight!

Omg yes it's now officially dippy cheesey bread season hurrah!! That's tomorrow night tea sorted.

Has to be a massive salad on MN surely Grin

Phos · 30/09/2022 17:50

Chips, cheese and gravy

Yes, I’m from Yorkshire!

Eeksteek · 30/09/2022 18:08

I really like nachos, dips and salsa if I’m treating myself. Or Indian. Or cheese. Pizza to really slob out.

Broke atm, so cruised Morrison’s aisles with my car park change trying to find something comfort eat, as it was so cold and wet earlier. I failed to be inspired, so I came out with a box of fishfingers and some ice cream. I shall have a fishfinger sandwich, and either make apple crumble to have with the ice cream, or have it with blackcurrant coulis I made in the summer. I really want coffee and hazelnut cake, but I can’t be arsed to make it, and it’s not cheap either. Wish I’d thought of Camembert. Yum!

Whendovescry03 · 30/09/2022 18:10

Ooo I was just thinking what to have for a Friday pig out dinner! Possibly chicken burgers with mac n cheese and red wine.

Also baffled at people suggesting it's now the season for cheese. Do you not all eat cheeseboards and camembert all year round?! It's too good to keep just for the winter!

ohlordhelpme · 30/09/2022 18:10

I'm getting a Chinese, bottle of wine, and watching the latest episode of Bad Sisters. No idea what my husband and kida are doing.

Always4Brenner · 30/09/2022 18:11

Love food like this
chinese
pizza
buffet nibbles from freezer warmed in oven. (Luxury treat in future)

itwasntmetho · 30/09/2022 18:13

Nachos and salsa or those multipack dips of four flavours.

itwasntmetho · 30/09/2022 18:13

Plus a mint aero

Barnowl25 · 30/09/2022 18:14

Wine already open. Fish and chips here.

Vinylloving · 30/09/2022 18:17

A Cook lasagne, garlic bread, crisps + dip, crispy coated peanuts, chocolate/toffee pudding with ice cream, maltesers, wine or nice pop/tonic of going alcohol free

limitededitionbarbie · 30/09/2022 18:18
