Whether it's texts or forum messages, what's your honest opinion of people who constantly do this? Does it give you the warm and fuzzies? Or do you just wish they wouldn't?

I think it's fine xoxo

ofwarren · 26/09/2022 12:52

Do any men do it?
I've only seen it from women but I don't really have many people who message me so I've not seen if it's common amongst men.

DutchessOfMuck · 26/09/2022 12:55

Just dh and the kids. Although the kids told me it was old fashioned and I was to stop so that was that 😢 I am mid 40s!!! 😢

I have accidentally sent Xx at the end of text to various people in a professional capacity 😳

Iamacatslave · 26/09/2022 13:12

Xxxxx

xogossipgirlxo · 26/09/2022 13:17

I don't mind. I once got work email with "x" at the end. Not even from my work colleague. Just person from other company that we trade with 😂

KatherineofGaunt · 26/09/2022 14:26

I dislike it when you're messaging about something on Facebook marketplace and the other person puts kisses. You don't know me! Stop it!

If I'm acquainted with someone and they do it, okay, fine. It's when it's a complete stranger that I just find it odd and wish they wouldn't.

DillDanding · 26/09/2022 15:46

I can't stand it. It's so mimsy and girly.

I ban my friends from doing it.

merrymelodies · 26/09/2022 23:02

If you use lots of xxx, you probably call people 'hunny' as well.Hmm

Ineedwinenow · 26/09/2022 23:06

My builder, plumber, sparky, old male boss, family, friends new and old, random acquaintance get far too many emoji’s and far too many xxx’s from me, weirdly hubby gets none…..

Womencanlift · 26/09/2022 23:43

With friends it’s ok to an extent but if overused then it’s just annoying

Definitely not appropriate or professional in a work setting either in emails or internal chat messages. If any of my direct reports were communicating in that way I would be having a word

I remember a thread on here where the OP finished every sentence with “haha xx”. Drove me up the wall and was annoying as it was an interesting topic and conversation but had to walk away from it because of the OPs style of writing

pinok · 26/09/2022 23:48

My mind was blown to find out that they don’t use X as a kiss in America 😮 I’ve seen lots of confused tweets about ‘why do British people put an x on the end of text messages’

DilemmaDelilah · 27/09/2022 07:14

For a short while (He was very unreliable) we employed a young man to do weeding. He communicated only by text and put an x on the end of every text. I don't think he understood that x means kiss though... I think he thought of it as punctuation like a full stop at the end of a text.
