Spending money for a week in New York?

Well 6 days. My partner and I, no children. We'd like to book onto some tours etc. As well. Would need some sort of subway pass.
Want to try new places to eat but i don't think we'll be eating in restaurants for every meal, probably some quick takeaway stuff too.
Wondering if £300 each (obviously converted) would be enough?

Dream on. Sadly the exchange rate is fucked. I was going best best year but will delay. New York is EXPENSIVE.

Weird typo! Next year...

Also make sure that your hotel does not charge resort fees. Some do and they are not normally included in your hotel price. They would take a huge chunk of your budget and given the current exchange rate they could be crippling.

Hotels in new York have to charge that fee, it's a state tax.

No it’s not… resort fees, often also called guest amenity fees, are charges for certain ‘services’ offered by the hotel. The whole practice is a massive racket but unless something sketchy has gone on and you weren’t informed in the T&Cs at the time of booking then you’re highly unlikely get out of paying them. The best plan is double check everything before booking to ensure you don’t get any nasty surprises when you get the bill at check out.

And a resort fee is totally different to state tax

Ah sorry, at our hotel it was all rolled into one, so it covered things like internet and tea/coffee

My husband and I were there in March for 4 nights, we spent well over 2000. It's ridiculously expensive.

We were there a month ago. Lots of free things obviously but eating out and drinks were b expensive. Did find a couple of cheap pizza slice places and Grimaldis in Dumbo was great value.
