To think Kwasi is unhinged / on drugs?!

So, following on from several threads discussing today's bizarre budget, I went and googled to find some footage of him at the Queen's funeral which someone had mentioned.

If you've not seen it, take a look. WTF?!

Is this man unhinged, on drugs or just plain disrespectful? Any of these might also explain today's budget.....

A million years ago I used to know him. There's not a chance he's on drugs. He's pompous and dull and socially awkward but he's not a drug user

Im not sure how you can be so sure, having known him a “million years ago”

Neighboursnumber1fan · 23/09/2022 20:35

Yes! I assumed it was the octonaut!

Did anyone else think this was about Kwazi from octonauts?

Me!!

Cornishbelle · 23/09/2022 20:38

@mrsmarmalade12 another one here who thought this was octonaught related! So glad am not alone. Though pretty shocked to see what it's actually about I mean ffs 😔

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/09/2022 20:41

Having a lot of experience of drugs/alcohol/ADHD/MH I'd guess alcohol or a MH episode. The swaying and grinning looks like alcohol. The looking around and grabbing his seat look like he's struggling with MH. Could be both. A small amount of nodding which is sometimes opioids but often alcohol.

He's not gurning, chewing, sniffing, 'dancing' so I don't think it's drugs, unless mixed with alcohol. It's not any kind of ADHD to me. There are other things like Tourette's though. Small possibility.

The man is definitely not well though.

That Twitter link 😵

@ChocChipOwl
FFS don't excuse apparent bad behaviour with labels!

ADHD is not a "label".

Lonelycrab · 23/09/2022 20:43

As I said on the other thread, I actually want Boris back

But I think not many voters will share that view, certainly not compared to his election victory, so an election would be lost with that approach.

That is the dichotomy that is the Tory party now. It’s fallen apart at the seams, along with this country the way things are going. They are gambling recklessly on our future now because they know they’re out of here, once they’ve set things up the way they want over the next two years, their backers will be satisfied.

We can all get fucked in the meantime.

Franca123 · 23/09/2022 20:43

I can't get over that people pay enough attention to octonauts that they know the name of a character. When I'm watching that shite my head is going lalalalala inside.

Whaaat octonauts is great! Especially the movie. With the songs.
I’m a tiny little fish in the big blue sea…

I’m not so sure - after this ridiculous mini budget I don’t believe that voters would rate Truss and Kwarteng above Boris. Making higher earners 10 grand a year better off during a cost of living crisis is a terrible look. Millions of ordinary people (including myself) will be absolutely fuming.

The government needs to respond to this video - so shocking

balalake · 23/09/2022 20:51

This government and indeed the previous one should be held to account, preferably in a court of law for some of them. Thinking they are mentally unwell gives them an excuse to avoid justice.

Please also do not refer to Mrs Johnson as Carrie Antoinette.

Lonelycrab · 23/09/2022 20:52

Kwazii from Octonauts is pretty cool from what I remember. I don’t think he shorted the pound and treated the U.K. economy like an arcade game like the other Kwasi just did.

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2022 20:53

The guy may be intelligent but is an absolute disgrace in terms of manners and financially illiterate too. To give reductions'hoping' for 'trickle down' is equivalent to me buying £100 of lottery tickets hoping for a win. Still should make his old banker friends happy.

MumUndone · 23/09/2022 20:55

Creature report, creature report...

BMW6 · 23/09/2022 20:56

Hasn't he got a degree in Economics?

MrsEdnaWelthorpe · 23/09/2022 20:57

Bloody hell, as an ex raver he definitely looks like he's taken something. How reassuring that he's in charge of the economy.... is this not being covered in the media?

It’s actually more like giving someone who’s already a millionaire £100 to buy lottery tickets, and hoping for them to win and share some of the jackpot with you.

BMW6 · 23/09/2022 20:56

No. Economic History. Not really an economics degree. It’s more about the economies of past civilisations, especially the rotten Romans.

Lonelycrab · 23/09/2022 21:01

Hasn't he got a degree in Economics?

Dont know, but he’s got a masters for showing disrespect at our Queens funeral.

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2022 21:06

@jetadore Ha, ha- so true!!! It's reducing tax take at a point the country clearly hasn't enough to spend on essential functioning with just a 'belief' that it might work , rather than investing in stuff that actually will make a difference to the average punter! You end up with giving people a bit more with one hand and then the Bank of England raising interest rates again to counter any inflation- so higher mortgages, loans, credit cards etc.

Stamp duty I agree with- but very little else!!

SpinCityBlue · 23/09/2022 21:14

He's tanked the pound and put the UK in hock to any country big and rich enough to come along and have an influence.

What could possibly go wrong?

NashvilleQueen · 23/09/2022 21:47

I knew him when he came back from Harvard and was going back to Cambridge. He is probably the most intellectually brilliant person I've met. guess he might suddenly have decided that a week into one of the highest offices of state and at HMQ's funeral that he's going to get off his face on ketamine but honestly I doubt it.

I hate the tories and everything they stand for but some of this 'insight' based on a few moments of video is bizarre.
