To ask my neighbour for a pad?!

So my nearest shop is a 20 min walk away, and it's raining (light but streaming if you see what I mean). I'm due to get my period either tonight or tomorrow morning but am totally out of sanpro.
I know my neighbour "sort of": I gave away a perfume via my local FB group, and she collected it. We also speak pretty much daily on Messenger about a guy who is suspected of poisoning cats in our area (we are both crazy cat ladies).

I really cant be bothered to walk to the shop but equally does this make me incredibly lazy/is it inappropriate to ask her for one or two pads?

If I'm going to the shop I need to leave within the hour!

YABU = stop being lazy and go to the shop
YANBU = ask the neighbour thats what they're for

Ah written by a man, that would explain it.

ThistleSifter · 14/09/2022 18:07

I’d just order on Amazon for next day delivery if I was feeling that lazy tbh!

How far are you away from the shops?

starsparkle08 · 14/09/2022 18:07

Go to the shop and in future be more organised

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 14/09/2022 18:08

I've just noticed you're not on yet. Don't be so bloody lazy and walk to the shop or ask someone else to get your 'san pro' for you.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 14/09/2022 18:09

I wouldn't, but I hope you get the b*stard who's poisoning cats

Or Getir or the Sainsburys Chop Chop one. Add crisps/chocolate if you need it at that time of month.

The last time I ran out of whatever, I was 13 & had very unpredictable bleeds.

"Be prepared" . Does that apply to Guides as well as Scouts ?

gogohmm · 14/09/2022 18:11

She might not have any - I haven't got any in the house because I have reusables and dd has a mooncup

Just fold up a flannel or rip up an old T shirt or something if you can't be bothered walking to the shop.

This. Or I've double folded Kleenex over if I've needed to wait to go to shops to get sanitary towels/tampons.

Mummydoingmybest · 14/09/2022 18:11

Wow how lazy are you! I’d never do this.. not because it’s a sanitary towel, but for anything I could walk 20 minutes to get.

PotatoHammock · 14/09/2022 18:11

I wouldn't think it totally out of order to ask her, but I would probably save that sort of favour for an actual emergency, like if the shops weren't open or you had a poorly kid at home.

Plus, one pad isnt going to last you all the way until you can get to the shops in the morning.

SirenSays · 14/09/2022 18:13

Aww I'd be more than happy to help a neighbour. I'd rather they asked me than walked to the shop in the rain.

User47484739478474 · 14/09/2022 18:15

I hope my female neighbours don't assume me a 30 year old woman to have pads in the house and ask for one 😅 Haven't had a period in about 6 years due to Mirena. So you can't assume your neighbour would have them in her house!

go to the shop!

Sounds like this was written by a man

I think you mean a bepenised lady.

Mummysharkargggggggg · 14/09/2022 18:18

Go to the shop it's only rain not acid 😳

ManateeFair · 14/09/2022 18:18

Fine if it was an emergency, but it’s not. You just can’t be bothered to get your own. So YABU.

Bit ill prepared...

Walk to the shop, it's what you'd have to do if you didn't have the neighbour to rely on, she may not even have ahem 'sanpro'.
Next month make sure you are stocked up.

TrashyPanda · 14/09/2022 18:20

You’d be out of luck here.

I’ve had a hysterectomy.

just put on a waterproof and go out. 20 minutes is a short walk.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Laughing so hard I might need to ask the neighbour for tena lady.

Branleuse · 14/09/2022 18:20

Walk to the shop or order a delivery surely or use reusable stuff so you arent caught short

Gardenclems · 14/09/2022 18:21

I’ve just realised what sanpro meant! I thought it was a brand of sanitary protection

TabithaTittlemouse · 14/09/2022 18:21

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 14/09/2022 17:36

If it hasn't started yet, go to the shop. If it were an emergency that's different, but you are essentially involving your neighbour in your cycle and that's fucking weird.
