If you don’t drink what do you do to relax?

I’ve never been a big drinker but I find now even a glass of wine or prosecco leaves me feeling not great the next day so I just don’t feel like the odd drink is worth it anymore. It must be an age thing?! Just wondering what other people do to get to get that relaxed feeling or just to feel the difference between a week day evening and a weekend if they tend not to drink?

How do this work if you don’t mind me asking? Used to have a vape but it used cartridges of liquid that were then impossible to get ahold off so had to buy a whole new kit every time so gave up on it and smoke the old fashioned way now 😂

You put dry herbs in the chamber and then set it to heat as high a temperature as you like. I have found that a higher temp gets you more stoned than a lower one which just leaves you feeling a little mellow.

I’ve pretty recently ditched the booze because of all the reasons already pointed out here

I find I just do what I’ve always done, but I’m just more present! I do my sports, exercise and the drinks after (non-a). I go to parties (non-a). I watch tv, I read, I walk the dog. I go out for dinner. I cook dinner.

Its all the same, and I’ve been surprised I don’t need the alcohol to enjoy the same things I’ve always done. I feel alcohol probably stopped these things being enjoyable in some ways, the opposite of what I previously thought! It actually just numbs you, taking out the actual enjoyment from whatever you are doing.

Usually a cuppa tea, but then that's 24/7.
I guess when I can still and catchup on e.g. Mumsnet, or research x topics without rushing thinking eg, plane landing at 6, the weather conditions, etc.

I have a non alcoholic cordial drink, with fizzy water, which I only have in the evening or at weekend.

I also really enjoying reading and writing. I keep a journal.

I have been a life long anxiety and panic sufferer and now have it mostly under control.

What many could call boring makes me feel quite tranquil most of the time.

I quit drinking over a year ago. Sometimes I have an alcohol free drink but generally I’ve just broken the association between alcohol and relaxing/celebration etc.

Same here - it became even more apparent as the previous evening's so called relaxing drink would make me a bit shaky and anxious the next day. I really had to call it quits.

30 mins of Pilates really chills me out, even surprised myself!

Long hot bubble bath.
Swimming.
Just sitting/laying down and doing nothing after exercising.
Going for walks in nature, preferably near water (coast, round a lake or reservoir)

I do like the odd glass of wine, but it's not my way of relaxing. Listening to music is probably my biggest relaxation. Also reading. Cup of tea. Drinking tea while reading and listening to music!
