To be fucked off by constant Facebook bans!

my account has been on restricted now for about a year. This followed an post where I told someone they were stupid for believing something about Donald Trump and they reported me for bullying! I literally just said they were stupid for believing it and that’s all. Anyway Facebook agreed I was an abhorrent waste of human tissue and I was banned. In that time I have had nothing but grief and am banned for stuff constantly at the drop of a hat. I got a 7 day ban yesterday for joking about selling my car! In the 2 weeks previous to that I had a ban for a meme I posted 3 years ago, a post from 6 months ago, a post from a week ago. Im under the watch from the bots. It’s constant! Sometimes I can dispute it and 2 minutes later I’m not banned any more because the bots realise it’s bullshit but this time there was no option!

it’s just constant and I continually monitor what I post and go through old posts deleting them but it’s so hard to know what they will pick up in next and almost impossible to go back through 10 years of my posts!

I know when I’m restricted it means it’ll stay that way for 5 years and there’s no way around it!

the problem is I’ve had a very traumatic year and without going into detail I use Facebook to communicate with family and friends who are keen to know How I’m getting on. I do try to keep in touch in other platforms but it is such a nightmare because most people use FB. It’s also affecting my small business.

Yes facebook does seem to be digging into the past for posts.
I had a warning a few months ago pop up on a post from when ds2 was a toddler. He was wearing an orange top and a piece of his hair was sticking up making him look like a pumpkin. Got a warning for comparing my own child to a pumpkin 10 years ago 😂

Sounds obvious, but can’t you just keep it to stuff to share with family? Debating (and I use the term loosely) with people on FB groups is about as pointless an activity you can possibly engage in anyway.

There are a fair few people on my FB who regularly end up in FB jail. It does seem once you end up in there, it is a constant battle to stay out.

I have never been Zucked, but I did have a warning on my account for a year. It was for a self-deprecating comment aimed at myself. It didn't even get published. I pressed enter and bam! Got a warning for "bullying".
I do try to be really careful now as I have £100s worth of games attached to my FB account. If I get a ban, my VR headset will become a paperweight.

It depends on the group. ours was for people in a certain sector to catch up, reminiscing and general piss taking.
Most of us knew each other offline.
It was always set to private so no one outside the group could see it, yet zuckfuck still got in a strop over the least thing and wielded the ban hammer like a ninja on speed.

I was mostly flagged for being in several DIY groups which got shut down regularly for using inflammatory language such as "hard as nails" "nail it to the wall" "bang it" then there is my animal crossing group repeted bans for discussing "weeds" this means everything I say and do is watched like a hawk I've been banned for a sunset (nudity) banned for bullying someone said my disabled kid should die I told them they were nasty and reported them I got banned they didn't I said the word seriously? Lol! To someone it was bullying they didn't report it no clue who did

Stopped posting on FB 2 yrs ago, sounds like I’m not missing anything.
FB is no more than an advertising site now, use it as such not a discussion group.
WhatsApp groups seem to work well but it’s not public you have to join and it has a manager(s)

It wasn’t even on a group! It was on a friend’s post and my friend had been getting some stick.

I use groups often though but they are only groups for specific things. I utilise these too for things every day and knowing now I face losing that for nothing is extremely frustrating!!

I think the only option I have is to cease posting at all, but that doesn’t take away the threat of the bots trawling my historical posts! I’ve limited my past posts (not sure what that entails!) so perhaps that will help. I really don’t know! It’s all so massively frustrating.

Ugh YANBU AT ALL, every since it seems old Marky Mark fired all the humans to replace with his army of Zuckerbots, it’s become literally ridiculous.they have ZERO understanding of context, banter etc it’s all flagged words, sentences..
Having to spell things in stupid ways, not being able to say “you are/look/..” as that flags as bullying a friend got a 7 day ban for commenting under her best mate’s profile pic “you look like a turtle here” meant in no malice ofc.
i run a cringe group and i got chucked in fb jail for 7 days for sharing a Shein ad for a pair of shorts with a thick black seam that went from front of vulva to buttcrack.. that I had screenshotted from.. fucking Facebook itself!! An ad that came up in my feed!

My tinfoil is that it’s a deliberate move to exasperate people enough that they move to the more solely image/video based platforms like tiktok and insta, where there is way less privacy and less text, therefore shuffling ppl more and more into insecurity, worshipping the inane, valuing looks/ aesthetic over words of substance..
like, I’m not a conspiracy loonie usually (promise) but this one does make me go hmmm.

My account is currently restricted - 14 days to go. My sister tagged me in a photo of a particularly ugly toad and said "this is you". I replied to say that I would run myself over with a car if said toad was indeed me.

just use facebook messanger to talk to family and stop using the main platform for a while.

This is bizarre stuff. So often, it seems that things that start out being useful and fun turn to shit.

My FB account has been suspended for ages - due to lack of use! I tried to use it a year or so ago to try and get back in contact with an old friend I've lost touch with, and couldn't find any way of reactivating it. It wouldn't let me open a new account without getting a new email address, at which point I lost the will to live.

Having read this, it sounds like a bonus.

Seriously though, if you want to use FB to keep in touch with family, and need it for your business, then don't waste your time or energy using it for things that will get you banned.

Not really. I use it to update friends and family while I have my treatment. It’s been a very long traumatic few years, I’ve lost my dad and a close friend and I’ve been finding constantly emailing individuals quite emotionally exhausting.

As I say it was only one disagreement I got into some time ago that’s all. I guess not everyone can understand the importance of social media to some but it’s been a bit of a lifeline for me at times!

The thing is, it's clearly not arguments and insults that are getting people banned, it's jokes, double meanings, perfectly harmless content.

I have WhatsApp groups and they are nothing alike, my FB is mostly local businesses, interest groups, and a wider group of family and friends. The WhatsApp groups I have are close family and friends, colleagues, or very specific groups like my son's classmates parents.

I don't have Twitter, Instagram, tik tok or anything else. Hoping FB sort this out so that I can keep hold of it.

My account got deleted because I just MENTIONED QAnon. I was talking about how much it annoys me. There is an algorithm that picks up certain words and indiscriminately nukes accounts. I’m very careful what I say now. I had to start a whole new account - total PITA
