I've seen several now, I understand some will like them but I just feel it's all a bit OTT!
Here is the latest one I've seen...

if you don't like something don't read it

But you can’t know whether or not you like it until you’ve read it.

TheKeatingFive · 11/09/2022 21:51

ALL of them?

...every day?

Yeah. I'm not sure they thought that line through 😂

There is some real miserable around, if you don't like something don't read it
If you don't like the paddington references scroll by
But no instead sit there criticising others and trying to make out your better by picking up spelling mistakes
Why can't people just be nice

You don’t get to police others I’m afraid. And some of the people posting/writing this complete shite, the poems and the little comments are about as far from #bekind as you can get.

I’ll keep laughing it I find something funny and if I want to say something is shite, I will. If you don’t like anyone’s comments, take your own advice and scroll.

"My children have done me proud
Every single day"

LIES.

Testina · 11/09/2022 22:39

Oh they’re awful!
My particular issue with that one is the reference to “Lilibet”. Was it because of The Crown that everyone found out about this name and latched onto it?
That’s like one of my team finding out that my husband calls me (their boss) Princess Snookums, and adopting it to be pally and “in the know” with me.
Anyond saying Lilibet is a sycophantic wanker.

This is the poem I didn’t know I needed. Excellent. Sums up the dickheads well. 😂

Crankley · 11/09/2022 23:26

I have read none. Is there someone forcing you to read them?

If you dislike them so much, I fail to understand why you have posted one in your OP.

Love it!

GreenClock · 12/09/2022 00:59

“Kathrine” and “Megan” 😂

The poems are unintentionally funny. The writers are halfwits but they mean well. It’s harmless nonsense.

Like George the Third
And George the Fourth
Elizabeth’s nipples
Point to north
A bear arrives ! not long until
She joins her lover, cousin Phil

Now here's one I do quite like.

DorchaAndLouis · 12/09/2022 08:50

YABU. People deal with things in different ways.
That's only the second one I've seen, and no one forced me to read it.
Have you been seeking them out?

I guess it depends on the make up of your social media, I have seen these 'poems' posted several times on Facebook and WhatsApp groups along with the Paddington bear masquerading as the grim reaper cartoon. It is not a case of being forced to read it but equally when you are directly messaged it is hard to avoid it altogether. The fact remains that they are incredibly badly written at best, and mawkish emotionally incontinent drivel at worse, and to be honest when I see people who should know better fawn over these poems I do think a little less of them.

Oh wow 🤣🤣🤣🤣

KurtCobainsColourfulCarpet · 12/09/2022 10:19

I wouldn't mind them in theory, but the ones written from the Queen's first person perspective seem quite distasteful right now. She's barely cold, they almost certainly didn't know her as a person yet they feel qualified to put words in her mouth. And usually words that seem to portray her as a simpering, soft, frail old biddy, not one of the strongest and most enduring female leaders in history.

YES. Absolutely this. I imagine she might have felt pretty patronised by such sentiments.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 12/09/2022 15:47

Yes they're awful
