Cat bit my DD age 3. What to do

A cat on our road bit my toddler on her arm this morning. She had a fleece on so wasn’t directly on her skin but the bite went through her fleece and has broken the skin slightly. I washed her arm. Is there anything else I need to do?

Cats don't tend to just run up and attack people

A few months ago I was walking back from doing the school run when a random cat ran up, wrapped itself around my foot and started bunny kicking it. I lifted my foot to shake him off and he just wriggled round so he was then entirely encasing my foot with his tummy to the sole of my shoe. I couldn't put my foot back down or shake him off. I hopped a good few metres along the pavement before he gave up! Furry nutcase! Luckily for him I love cats and found it quite funny, but he could have been really hurt if I hadn't already received a cat servience education.

To whom?

The Cat Monitors? The Kitty Po-Po?

The police will have zero interest. Let the owners know, sure, they will tell you 'stop your child from trying to touch strange cats'.

I'd monitor the wound and keep it clean, if its a shallow scratch from teeth or claws it should be fine, particularly as it was through clothing, but you'll see very quickly if it isn't as its a surface wound.

The wounds that are risky with cats (and tbh...anything!) are deep puncture wounds as it takes much longer for infection to show on the surface, and they can appear to heal on the surface but be festering underneath, though actually the major reason small puncture wounds are so dangerous is that people DON'T think they're dangerous and so don't clean and monitor them properly.

kitty po-po.

spat my coffee out. thanks

I think the cat should be reporting the child here
