To raise a glass to remember and salute Elizabeth and everyone else who dies today ?

I'm a republican, and even so, tonight I raise a glass to Elizabeth as she seemed like a nice lady, but I also raise a toast to everyone else who will die today and who deserve to be be marked and remembered too.

Everyone is important, everyone is remarkable, and tonight I'm thinking of all those who have lost someone close to you.

Miss mine and it's been years
She used to moan about the Royals, but she had respect too!
She respected their roles .
It's the institution. It means something! X

Yes a glass to her and to her generation , shecwas a last link to my parents..I remember rolling my eyes at my Dad standing for the Queens Speech at Christmas..what I'd give to stand with him again .

My sister and BIL are currently by the side of his dad who has been given hours.... he'd probably like to share the same date as HMQ - he's 95 and up until 5 days ago was ok, I hope he goes peacefully too

Nice thread. I have enormous respect for the Queen and an genuinely upset at her passing. What also makes me sad is thinking about my own now passed Mum and Dad and Grandparents and how highly they thought of her.

We have. I got some sherry from the Co op specially as it seemed fitting. I'm as left as they come but I had a soft spot for the Queen.
