@JaneJeffer is another very clever one (you have to speak Irish, and, probably, be of a certain vintage to appreciate).

That’s long been a favourite. As has something like @MaudGonneMad? And @UterusUterusGhali.

Also kudos to @MorrisZapp, who is both nice and usually very sensible, plus there’s something hilarious about a leery fictional Austen scholar dispensing sage advice on how to quash a violent crush on an unsuspecting friend.

(@MorrisZapp, I tried to take your advice on letting it wash over me and enjoying it, with your example in mind, but even though I’ve dropped three dress sizes and people keep telling me I look great, the bloody thing hasn’t diminished in the slightest, despite my best efforts, a full seven months on…)

There's a very real dilemma with all this. If you suddenly think up a really funny name, do you change it on MN, but have to start again with the reputation or persona you've built? Or do you stick with what you have, with people knowing who you are, but living with a sadness at the name-that-could-have-been?

Lots of ones I've loved have been mentioned already but I still remember the Halloween when BuntingCat was changed to CuntingBat. I can't remember if they had a "the" before it or not now but that's still my favourite holiday name change ever.
