Hasn't she read the room?
No-one threatens my choice of cheese without a fight!

Thanks @Alexandra2001 I misremembered (though I'm still reasonably sure aim was to boost domestic sales, without going the full 'buy British' - not then acceptable under EU norms).

Because it was back in 2014 (I've just googled for the date)

@chantico Given how France and Germany etc promote their industries and agriculture, i think supporting "Buy British" is completely ok under SM rules, in fact i know it is.

People think the EU had all these EU rules and regs and these wrecked UK industries, the reality is UK Govt policy part did that... i.e selling off hi tech, where as many EU countries ban this practice.

Truss backed UK cheese because it is one of our success stories, which is fair enough and right to do... the problem was ..how she did it! her speech came across as a comedy sketch not serious policy.

UK cheeses are fabulous. Just v concerned she may block impotrts of delicious French cheeses

And I do realise this isn't a major issue - i don't want to think about the real stuff she has no idea about!

The article I read was that she opposes smart motorways and the temporary lower speed limits on motorways; not that she wanted to remove speed limits. Just a headline to get people up in arms.

I’d be quite happy to get rid of the speed limits on the motorways… but no one ever keeps left and I can’t see it ending well.

If my cheese is affected I will storm #10 myself.

I'm not up for increasing the limit. Too many fucking idiots who already speed will then go even faster because they're convinced they're reactions are superior but don't understand we need to drive to the lower ability. Don't trust half of them to have actually checked their tyres in a whole month either.
