To really not get wrap dresses

I'm looking for some new work dresses and have the usual problems for those with big busts - too tight versus too revealing.

I know wrap dresses are supposed to be the solution but I just don't get how you can wear them without a cami underneath if you're big busted, which kind of spoils the whole look.

The models never wear them with anything underneath as they are usually flat chested.

Does anyone wear them without a cami and what do you do about cleavage?

YABU wrap dresses are great and I never find myself accidentally flashing my cleavage.

YANBU wrap dresses are pointless and really don't suit anyone.

Hobbs jersey dresses. High necked and pull in at the waist. Also not too expensive - under £100

I’m large of chest and used to wear them either with a camisole or a pin, but I just got bored of the style. And I really hated proper wrap dresses not so much for the bodice as for the fact that I always felt like they were going to fall off, or at least gape fully open all the way down! I never wear wrap skirts for the same reason.

There's a quote on a thread in classics about wrap dresses, along the lines of "here are my boobs, the rest of me will follow along later".

I've got several and always wear a slip underneath so you don't worry about being exposed, but I'm a G cup and they make my bust look enormous so I always feel a bit self conscious in them tbh.

I love wrap dresses, but as a big-busted girl I have always had to wear a cami underneath. Someone recently recommended hijab magnets to me - absolute game-changer!!!!

I agree op. I’m always worried I’ll be exposed. Either the lower half will flap open or the bust will. They make my boobs look massive. I’ve also seen a woman’s full knickers after the skirt part blew open.

I have a DD bust and find wrap dresses look outrageous. I wear high necked tops without issues. Just hoist the bad boys up.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 04/09/2022 08:05

Could you try wearing them backwards - like a surgeons gown?
Then whatever is going on with them flapping open etc. is behind you and you would be blissfully unaware. 😬

I'm an hourglass g cup boobs and they work so well for me in autumn/winter/early spring. I wear them with a crop top and tights and they really suit my figure so long as the skirt is a line

HikingBoots · 04/09/2022 08:07

I have three wrap dresses for work, which I wear on rotation, but I only ever wear them with a skin tight black vest tucked into black tights - that gives me a really smooth silhouette.

Blowthemandown · 04/09/2022 08:08

@Swonderful I like them but I do sometimes sew on a press stud for modesty, LOL!

GoldenGorilla · 04/09/2022 08:42

I don’t like wearing a vest underneath them, too bulky sometimes, so I wear those modesty panels that you clip on to your bra straps to give you extra coverage.

MadamTrelawney · 04/09/2022 08:50

Oh yes!!! They are the bane of my busty life!! Trying to find a dress for an October wedding and all they have style wise is wrap! They either make me look frumpy or like I’m a lady of the night 🤦🏼‍♀️

arguably my friend who is smaller busted looks so chic in them!!

I've just googled hijab magnets. What a brilliant idea!
