He's 17 - we just spent a day in Paris. Did the usual tourist sights. But there was one thing he saw that fascinated him and he couldn't stop talking about it.

Can you guess what it was?

A fool and their money are easily parted

Street mime?

5128gap · 02/09/2022 19:58

Suckers? Confidence tricksters?

shmiz · 02/09/2022 19:58

Rats 🐀??

Suckers? Confidence tricksters?

But what were they doing?

The three card trick thing. Punter never wins but think if they look hard enough at the hand of the card man/woman, they will.

idonotmind · 02/09/2022 20:00

breastfeeding in the street

baguettes out of vending machines

Unfair! You asked what he saw not what they're were doing. Put that goal post right back. I win!😂

The three "something" under cups etc then. You know the gig.

teach1066 · 02/09/2022 20:03

Sand ‘art’?
I have just been to Paris and saw the same sand art creation over two days!

feelingprettylight · 02/09/2022 20:04

The cup/ball trick?

orbitalcrisis · 02/09/2022 20:05

Lost interest now.

We have a winner

I could see one of the stooges. Pretty obvious as she kept playing and winning and occasionally losing.

Someone else bet 100 Euro, lost and walked away with his wife having a go at him.

DS was fascinated by this. We could have watched it for ages. I know there is probably more than 1 ringer in the audience but couldn't identify them.

Who bets 100 Euro?

Juggling with kittens/puppies
The old tap on the shoulder ' I think you've dropped your ring/this money ' ploy
A penguin on the metro ?😁

cakeorwine · 02/09/2022 20:08

For me - the most interesting thing was returning to where we parked the car. There were people selling street food which they were cooking in shopping trolleys. Fascinating

Sorry , but that's it ???

Sunnyqueen · 02/09/2022 20:09

Men with big watches and small brains.

Yes - that's it.

Watching people throw away good money - because of over confidence

The thing that fascinates me is that one of the metro stations (might be Auber) has an escalator that takes you down, flattens out, then takes you down a bit further. I have seen nothing like this anywhere else.

Seemslikeaniceday · 02/09/2022 20:12

OP, you would be amazed how many three card tricksters there are at Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza. Every time I am shocked how gullible people still are.

Lancrelady80 · 02/09/2022 20:15

There were at least 4 groups of people doing that on the same stretch of road in London a couple of weeks ago, near the Houses of Parliament.

First lot, I was mildly intrigued to actually see this happening in real life.

Second lot, realised it was obviously a group organised thing and got a bit annoyed.

Third lot, royally pissed off as they had managed to get so many people around them (and then kept moving them back away from the cups) that pedestrians either couldn't get past or were forced onto the road.

Sarahconnor1 · 02/09/2022 20:16

Westminster Bridge is full of this at the moment.

I thought the police were cracking down on this in London - based on my YouTube research!
