Does anyone else find this just bloody odd. Sil thinking it’s funny to teach Dd, only 4, to be rough and tell people to leave her alone/get lost etc and laughing when Dd gets all riled up and overstimulated and hitting and shouting at Dh and I?
Deliberately laughing when she does *naughty/challenging things, would you do that?

@Aquamarine1029 She’s not around her often, thank goodness, if it happened again, we’d say something, but shouldn’t it be down to Dh to say it

You’re the mother, if you’re there and she does it again speak up, Tell her to stop, it isn’t funny or a joke. Don’t rely on others to do it for you.

@Thinkingblonde Yes, I def would if it were to happen again. I know they’d see me as being uptight though and would probably say it’s just a joke

She sounds horrible. She obviously get some kind of sick pleasure out of tormenting a child.
I hate adults teasing kids.
Don’t let others influence your parenting. They can think what they like, it’s not them who will be calming a distressed 4 year old after Aunty Windup has caused a furore.
