To think MNHQ is being unreasonable

… to take down amusing burger & chips wind-up posts that aren’t hurting anyone when I had the perfect witty riposte ready to go?

It’s Friday fucking night. It’s not a post about poo or knickers or dusty vulvas

I honestly thought it was hilarious, the lettuce isn’t salad reply, and I think there was one that said something about a dry burger in sliced pan 😁
OP, I get the need for light relief without concentration during chemo, try the MC Beaton regency romance books - very light and easy to read with good characterisation if you like that sort of thing (I used to watch golf of all things with my dad, no interest in it normally but what I could cope with with a limited concentration span). Wishing you tons of luck and lots of laughter along the way.

Op I think it's something mnhq needs to get together on , there doesn't seem to be any consensus on humour and funny thread's???

Like you say humourous threads, why not allow them for god's sake.

They need to get a proper policy on it.
And some poster's need to get a bloody grip.
I remember on king Alfred's burnt cakes some utter joy sucker's repeat spammed it " can't be true" etc

Bugger! I saw that earlier and didn’t click on it, and now I find out it was funny and now it’s gone.

So did I and thought that it was another food thread that would bring out the diet shamers. Dam.

@Martinisarebetterdirty I watched upstairs downstairs, because it was slow and calm, but when I felt upto it it gave rise to me Googling WW1, Spanish flu etc and other things. So provided me with total leisure time.

Great suggestions @Martinisarebetterdirty & @Ponoka7 thank you. Light entertainment here I come. I’ve also been thinking of getting into Jilly Cooper.

This is my second time, first time back in 2011 I watched all of Downton Abbey & Miranda, programmes I had previously shunned. But both were perfect for chemo brain.

Have you seen Taskmaster?

I'd really recommend it, if you can find earlier series-es.
Very undemanding, very very funny

MumofSpud · 27/08/2022 15:05

I'd like there to be a Reverse board as sometimes they are v v funny

Martinisarebetterdirty · 27/08/2022 20:09

Jilly Cooper is an excellent choice! Start with the Rutshire chronicles (Polo, Rivals, etc) and enjoy.

mowly77 · 27/08/2022 21:58

I’ve never seen it @Rogue1001MNer … both my sisters also tell me it is very funny. Will watch!
