To think rooms and carpets will come back into fashion

The current fashion for wooden floors and open plan layouts has been popular for years. I'm start to find myself drawn to separate rooms and very large rugs or carpets.
Do you think the fashion will change soon? Especially with heating bills soaring?

Separate room and carper fan here OP. Not keen on the sparce open plan grey clinical theme going on at the moment

Call me an old stick in the mud, but separate rooms and carpets for me!

Open kitchen/dinner but separate living room and playroom. I don’t want cooking smells and noises from dishwasher and washing machine in the living room.
Carpet in living room and bedrooms but flooring everywhere else
