Colleague constantly eating all the time

We share a desk.

She comes in at 9. Usually a McDonald's breakfast bun of some kind

Snacks on cake, sausage rolls, meats 🍰

Lunch is chicken and chips, McDonald's, KFC. Loads of crisps for a snack after at her desk

AIBU to be annoyed? She is constantly eating! The drums drive me up the wall. They edge onto my side

How revolting generally but particularly as your on a reception desk. What must guests think!

Well, I sympathise.

Watching someone graze on KFC and McDonald's day in day out would be annoying, and yes even disgusting.

And it's compounded by the fact that there's nothing you can say.

@SleeplessInEngland why can’t she say something?

I once took a salad with a boiled egg in it into the office without thinking- the second I opened it about 3 people yelled across the office something along the lines of ‘ffs, no eggs! No eggs! Go and eat it in the kitchen!’. Which I did.

Goldenbear · 26/05/2023 10:15

I wouldn't like that but I'd have a sensory overload and probably feel sick. I think you need to eat that in the restaurant (?) My DH had a colleague who kept bringing Roll Mops for lunch but he's not really shy about saying anything so I think they moved to the kitchen.

Times have changed in terms of concerns for health as I remember my Mum saying that she was worried about a colleague in the early 00s as at lunchtime she was consuming 6 cream eggs at once- it was Easter but still and everyone was concerned that something was wrong. 😬

I was on an absolutely packed train the other day and the woman behind me who was probably an inch away got out a smelly fish sandwich. There wasn't even space to eat and she got off at the airport stop which was only 3 stops within 15 mins, unsure why she couldn't have just ate it at the airport. I do a strong sense of smell though.

@RedToothBrush did you mean to resurrect a thread from last August?

@PoseyFlump I didn't.

You want to go check before having a whinge at me?

PoseyFlump · 29/05/2023 06:49

No @RedToothBrush. I just know your username and was surprised as I didn't have you down as a zombie thread resurrector Grin

PoseyFlump · 29/05/2023 07:00

Oh my bad. It wasn't you Blush damn new phone, sorry!

Yerroblemom1923 · 29/05/2023 07:18

Do we know if the issue got resolved? Would love to know! Sounds grim for the OP and worrying that her colleague is constantly eating such rubbish in full view of everyone rather than having her breakfast at home and her lunch in the canteen!

I hate the smell of KFC, so this would be my idea of hell. Especially greasy chicken hands touching the phone etc too.
